EX-SUPER LEAGUE BOSS IN TALKS TO JOIN PARRAMATTA
Former St Helens boss Mike Rush has emerged as a leading candidate to join Parramatta in a senior position.
It is understood Rush has held high level talks with the Eels about relocating to Australia with Parramatta on the lookout for a new chief executive after Jim Sarantinos finished last week.
Rush spent 27 years at St Helens including 13 as chief executive before stepping down from his post in February.

I like this, I know he's very highly regarded . He also is not the guy that'll accept mediocre coaching or coaching staff performance, have heard nothing but good.
I could be wrong but I think he pursued Ryles at one stage , or interviewed him for St Helen's .
If anything, it is a left field appointment if it happens.
No, no it's not. He's certainly got what it takes and has proved that over a long time.
They are always up there every year he knows how to get a club strong and competitive I like it
I'll reserve judgement until we see if this eventuates, but given he resigned from SL in Feb calling out "physical and emotional exhaustion" I'm not sure a place like Parra is where you go if you want less stress.
Credentialed and successful in SL. He'd be a bit of a nobody in Aus which would make it hard for him in the first year as he learns who is who in the zoo.
On the positive side - he's experienced, senior, has genuine runs on the board. Let's hope there are a few candidates of this quality in the mix and we pick the best one (or Matt Cameron announces he's moving back to Parra after the Panthers win it all again this season).
Heard this guy doesn't f around, he'll get what this club needs and will boot MON, Roger's and co for the shambles they've costed.
I mean he has experience. Plus, experience with a club like St. Helens who have high success rate with championships. They are the Roosters of the SL. This year is the first year without him and they went poorly.
One issue for me, something that can be fixed in time, would be he would have limited connections in terms of recruitment to start. In terms of relationships with clubs and agents. It will happen though, if he gets a good GM, makes life easier.
Although, it seems Rush has a connection with Ryles. Apparently Ryles tried to push St. George Illawarra to hire Rush as a CEO, Saints refused and that assisted in his decision to walk from their 5 year offer.
This is a left field hire. At least, as Cap said, he is experienced and a footy minded executive.
