Incredibly proud! If you compared player for player salaries of both teams today, they would have been close to double. That was all ticker today-especially in front of a huge Newcastle crowd
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm happy with the effort but boy do we make some absolutely ridiculous mistakes that even schoolboys would be ashamed to make.
That's two games now, storm and knights, that the opposition didn't turn up with the right attitude and gave us the game on a platter only for us to drop the platter, trip over it and then land on it.
All we ask is for them to compete, but there comes a time where competing just doesn't cut it.

Not only do we want to compete now, we want to win. The days of just competing are over. Ryles has to prove he's worth it. No more hiding behind injuries. This is a contact sport, and if you don't plan for injuries, you're not a proper NRL coach.
Listening to Ryles' presser, he talked about the Hooking position. He mentioned Edwards was brought to the club as he can play dummy half as well as in the middle. But he also said Edwards allows Hookers to develop and play more mins in cup. So does that mean he might keep Smith in Cup? Drop Da Silva to Cup? Very odd comment.
To be honest, Smith and Dasilva need a stint. Especially Dasilva. Has all the talent in the world but needs to pick his timing comes with age and just crafting at it. Smith needs a stint , he just havinf a second year syndrome.
Both can't have a stint. I don't think either need a long term stint. The more they play the better they'll be. I wouldn't say Smith is having 2nd year syndrome as much as that sternum injury would have limited him a lot.
At this point i think smith is the more reliable steady dummy half, tds has more skill and will eventually be the guy but he is a bit rocks and diamonds at the moment and could do with a spell in reserve grade to work on his concentration and consistency.
"Someone should ask him why we're losing games. No more stray answers; they no longer cut it. Para is not a welfare club. Why are players making mistakes? Ask some tough questions, for God's sake."

"NRL is a contact sport, so if you don't have a strategy to handle constraints, then you're not any good. Every year, we seem to face an injury crisis. Why? What is the fitness coach doing?
Are we implying we don't have a decent coach apart from…"
"I think you mean the fans who aren't making those in the club, especially around recruitment and retention accountable. Those so called fan sites accepting this mediocrity are the fans you should be concerned about.
Not the fans who are…"

I'm proud of the effort, not proud of the basics that we get wrong every week
and I hate how we push passes on 1st and 2nd tackle, that Williams attempted offload when we where in the red zone on 2nd tackle killed me
