ONE OR NONE?

There seems to be many fans that are not happy with the 1 year deal for Pezet. Personally, I'm not sure that Pezet and Moses will work as a halves combination.  I see them both as creative game controlling players. I think the best option as a five eighth to play alongside Moses is a bigger body running five eighth. I have no problem with the 1 year deal for Pezet if Ryles has another player in mind for 2027. The Eels look a far better side in 26 with Pezet than without him.

So the question remains, if Pezet was only wanting a 1 year deal for 2026, would you prefer the Eels didn't offer him the deal at all?

  • Im fine with the loan deal because Ryles is calling the shots. I don't really have any reason to question his decision making yet.

  • well ryles knows him .if he's a really good character and player can't hurt and the price is write . I'd prefer some one commited. The price would need to be low

    • Braith podcast 10 min mark talks about Pezet eels deal. Reasoning behind it. Good listen

    • Managed to get through most of the pezet part but had to turn it off eventually.

Anasta just put to bed all the bullshit we are being fed about the eels not wanting pezet for more than 1 season, he just admitted they wanted a longer deal. He also made it clear pezet isn't coming to play reserve grade so scratch that bullshit too. When asked what long term benefits do the eels get he said none before quickly changing the subject to what he will bring for next season.

All this podcast did was confirmed that the eels got cuckold.

      • He did specifically mention Pezet is a 7 but. Signing him as a 6 long term doesn't make any sense either. For now a 1 year deal while they evaluate options should be fine.

        • No it's not fine, we wanted a long term deal but accepted a short term deal to develop a player for the benefit of a team that just won the premiership.

Pezet was without a contract for next season because the broncos couldn't accommodate him until 2027 so ryles is just helping out a mate at the clubs expense.

Anasta even admitted there was no long term benefit for the eels.

We got cuckold it's as simple as that.

          • I mean if it takes pressure of Moses so he doesn't fall apart by round 5 then I'm ok with it. 😂 he's an eel for 2026 I do not care about 2027 in the slightest

            • Neither does the club apparently,  this is why we haven't won a comp in 40 years, only worried about the coming season not the ones after.

              • There isn't much left of Moses, if we could somehow get him a Jayden Campbell level 6 to stick next to him I'm sure they would have done that instead. I think Pezet is the best available half on the market and they've grabbed him to just help Moses. Hopefully they do land a bigger name or Lorenzo is the 6 for 2027
