They need to get rid of the one on one strip rule. It's become rediculous and it destroys the momentum of the game.
If they are not careful it has the potential to ruin the free flowing style of the game with players becoming more concerned with just having to hang on to the ball rather than looking for offloads.
Plus we always seem to be on the wrong end of it.

I don’t mind the rule I just don’t like it when 3 players tackle the ball runner, one player gets their hands around the ball where they need it tell the other two to drop off and yank it out, shouldn’t be legal unless it has always been a one on one tackle

Agree and it is quite clear they are coaching it for players to drop off as one person holds the ball. However in the meantime we also need to take advantage of it and learn how to stop it being down to us and do it to them

Bullshite it’s a great rule, League needs more contests for the ball in general play!
Go back to the way it was. One on one is fine but if anyone else is involved in the tackle at any stage then it's a penalty.

Refs just need to call held when a player is held. If two drop off and a third steals it, then it's still a penalty because it's after the held call. If a player is flat footed, is not moving forward and is held by three (giant) blokes then he is held and a rake can't take place. Easy fix. Otherwise it does indeed ruin the flow and might even, in time, take out one of the game's most exciting plays, the offload.
I called this immediately when I heard of the rule change. It was so obvious this was going to happen. Either the NRL wanted to see these deliberate type strips every week OR they are so freaking dumb they can’t see the obvious.
Anyway it’s now a rule so we need to practice it and become good at it.
The constant intent focus on stripping the ball will spoil the game BIG-TIME. It's better to legally smash hard to force the ball out but the NRL is making our game safe for ballerinas to play and with cameras looking from so many angles and video replays leading to sin bins, suspensions and with huge penalties/fines hanging over their heads, players and coaches will mostly shy away from the real brute side of the game and prefer the piss weak, less risk taking, antsy pantsy approach of ripping the ball out. It has to stop. One on one ONLY - any second MAN in and you can't strip the ball from that point onwards.
