            • Glad you said it and not me, I said similar a few months ago and got called out that i had no idea about anything.

I know stats are not always the main indicator of player performance, but Smith had 0 Try Assists in 2025. Now TDS has only one in his career but has not played the amount of mins Smith has either. Da Silva also has 5 tries to Smith's 1.

Smith has heart and effort, that is how he has won people over and i like him too. He seems like a top bloke a real club man. Da Silva has more potential. Doesn't mean he is better than Smith right now or will be better than Smith overall, but Da Silva's potential is higher than Smith's.

Some here were even saying Smith's passing was better than Mahoney's which i felt was a case of recency bias. Smith's passing is great, but he had a few odd passes in the year. To say his passing is better than Mahoney's is asinine honestly.

          • Ryley is a better player and Tallyn is getting paid a lot more than him. That can't go on.

      • He might learn more in lower grades at least develop more.

        • He's already played a ton of lower grades. His best course of action is to play off the bench as he has been for NRL.

He needed a pre-season. After 2026 if he is still all over the place then yeah go for your life knocking him.

    • He's a gun. Go and watch the Eels/Tigers Preseason trial match from last year, he tore us apart. I think he just needs some time with Moses. He also needs some creative license when he comes off the bench and can't just be a ball distributer like Smith, he's crafty and has a great pass, so he's a different type off dummy half, which gives us a point of difference in attack.

  • Would've made him shave it off turning up to pre season like that. Smith would be licking his lips

    • I don't think Smith would care either way as he is the current starter, just needs to do what he was doing and he starts.

  • The hair is a punishment for doing something wrong....other players have had the same over the last 12 months

    • It's for turning up late to training.

  • The making of TDS is he has to up his defensive physicality decision making and his service needs a shit load of work which is fine he's signed for the next 3 years.

At the moment it's head up trying to make something happen on his own.Once he gets that comfort level with his halves and middles then you'll see better play from him on the team.

The biggest reason I prefer Smith over him is workrate service and he leads our inside pressure which is so important.I also think Smith is alot more physical also.

"Thanks EA, love your calls mate. Any chance you might consider naming your man of the match or 3 2 1 points for the teams. I'd find that very helpful when i hear their names and associating them in your later calls.
