I reckon he probably hurts when he runs the ball up as well.....Christ knows, we need some runners that can hurt. The wingers can score the tries after it takes two to tackle him, probably why the try assists are pretty good. Don't forget he wouldn't have had too much success trying to score with that Dragons backline!
Suli is a analytics type of signing for not much money.
Read it how you will do we not have a shot at the top talent available.
Suli to me doesn't move the needle enough for me he's strong very straight linish and hasn't found a long term home now is he what we need does he add speed and athleticism to the team.Physicality yes he adds that can he add more than Penisini in yardage maybe but my eyes tell me different he's got a mistake in him much like the mentioned so for me if true I'm not overly enamoured either.
If there moneyballing at centre they best be landing Matt Burton and a middle of some description.
You are kidding right?, earning $1.3m you reckon?, more like he is earning the $900k he was on at parra and I was one of his biggest fans. Do you believe we should have matched the knights offer?.
Yeah - well that is a matter of opinion Tin. Ponga for me is the danger; and you say earning his money....well thats ok but I would like to know how he earned it weekly with Parra. He played v inconsistently IMO but each to their own.
But you see DB frees Ponga up that's the key and at the sametime Holbrook is slowly but surely will turn him into that game controller all the flashy stuff can be left Ponga while DB goes through his maturation of learning how to run a side. He's flipped him to the right side he's kicking more finishing sets he's been able to play both sides and him and KP are connecting in different stages of the game.
Holbrook understands what he has to do with DB and that's pull him into line and give a little with the pill and let KP be the guy. That's what there doing with him.Defensively it's a no contest he's snapping people in half. There on a winner there and while some will say he's not worth it ever since DB has got there Newcastles fortunes have changed bigtime in the space of what 10 games.Meanwhile back at his last team we are still looking for answers.
To be honest the knights have DB and KP on pretty much the same money.
I like the Newcastle side purely because of the strike they pocess on both sides.
When DB was saying last week he thought he was a lifer at the Eels it breaks your heart seeing him doing what he's doing elsewhere and yet we still have no answers at the position over 12 months after losing him.
Onething I'll say and they've obviously been built this way even when Fa"alongo looked like he had opportunity to break the game open the knights had enough athleticism with speed across the park to cover the threat. All the knights have to do to go to the next level is learn when to throw the pass if they can gain that discipline there a very dangerous side with the strike they have.
If we hadn't left the door ajar DB is still an eel.The only reason we lost DB was purely because of Peter O'Sullivan that guy has tried to land him at his last 3 stops Warriors firstly Redcliffe and finally got his man at the Knights. He understands how good and valuable DB is meanwhile look at the cluster we have going on at the position.
Watching the junior grades, for the life of me I cannot understand what the fuck they are doing with outside back development. We lost to dogs tonight in JF and if we swapped outside backs the result would be different. Leigh, Tuala and Nelson are all low potential players and 21 years old. Last year we played 18 year old Rokusuka and Howlett in JF yet this year since SG ball has finished they haven't been able to get into the JF team. Not to mention Sorovi (18) who has scored 6 tries in 3 games against grown men in Sydney Shield. How the fuck those 3 who have NRL potential not make the JF teaam blows my mind. I assume Bloomfield is too busy at Oakhill with his union commitments whilst Risati is playing union with Kings. We are willing to develop our forwards so much right now in the junior grades but we neglect our outside backs so much when thats our biggest issue in the NRL team for the future. Pisses me off
Rokosuka hurt his knee in his last SG Ball game against Souths in round 6. He got it strapped after 10 minutes and finished the game, but he was limping the whole time. Bloomfield has school commitments, as you say. Howlett was the other talented SG Ball outside back and he made his Flegg debut against the Silktails. I doubt he was dropped for that performance but he did look pretty small. Maybe he's not physically ready for the step up?

Holmes has scored about 10 tries a year in the same backline. Suli 2 a year

We miss Browny, killing it for the Knights. Earning his money week after week & throwing pies on faces that bagged him out. Ha ha
