Moderation Note: Forum Standards

We understand the frustration many are feeling, and the overwhelming, relentless sentiment surrounding the club at the moment.

However, we are not going to tolerate abuse or harassment directed at others simply because they may hold a different opinion. This also extends to individuals within the club itself and players.

We all expect standards from our club and players. We also expect standards on this forum.

For clarity's sake, the majority of posters have not crossed the line.

Moving forward, we will begin shutting down blogs, archiving threads, or removing content where necessary, and expect people to de-escalate in order to avoid further moderation action.

  • Fair call, the temperature has been getting a bit spicy in here of late.

Play the argument, not the person. And when all else fails remember:

    1. It's just a game and
    2. "I win arguments on the Internet" is not something you want on your Tinder profile

Now can we talk about what really matters - who is worse at picking a SOO team between Slater and Laurie.

    • Happens after a loss, always. Last week tumbleweeds were moving past the site.

      • Too true, we do love a good bit of drama. Who needs Home & Away when you're an Eels supporter.

    • How Jackson Ford and Terrell May miss out is beyond me, while Victor Radley gets selected? Then picking Yeo at lock when he's always been a better prop at Origin level. The lack of a genuine utility is also a concern. He'll be relying on Brailey and Strange to step into the breach on debut if a spine player goes down.

      • It's not a bad idea to start Yeo at lock then bring in Murray for quick play the balls once the defenders have some tired legs. I think Yeo will start and finish the game with Murry playing the key attacking lock role.

Having Teddy at FB will be a bigger concern as he kills any type of attacking plays we have in Origin and just spends his time slipping and sliding around like a goose. While he's had some good form in Clubland, QLD easily cover him in Origin. Our NSW FB stocks have really taken a hit because Edwards isn't spectacular either, while QLD had to leave Walsh out of their side so they could fit Ponga and Hammer.

😔 Fearful this could be another QLD clean sweep year with the amount of injuries we have. Let's just hope Moses isn't one of them.

        • Teddy at FB worries me too - he is a ball hog and continually tries to make the hero plays. Edwards was great, did the hard stuff and didn't always look to be Man of the Match.

Our only saving grace is that Slater has also picked some really whacky out of form players.

          • Completely agree, Tedesco never got origin, whereas Edwards did his job. FFS how does Latrell get injured around origin every year

        • Clintorian, I was thinking the opposite. Play Yeo at prop. Yeo often plays first receiver at Panthers, to get Cleary or Talagi a little wider, but in SOO you cannot rely on that width trick giving you a staggered defensive line? Earlier ball to Cleary and Moses by getting Yeo out of the (ball playing) way?

          • Totally agree with that as well Daz. QLD were all over Yeo like a rash last Origin he played lock because he was far too slow in linking with Cleary and they shut down the plays with ease. We need to just stick with Robson, Cleary, and Moses for the ball playing.b Yeo plays more of a versatile Prop role and Murray generates quick play the balls through the middle which lead to more ball time for the halves.

      • Radley has got to be one of the most baffling selections. It feels like it was a selection 3 years too late just because he's now elligible.

Ford was robbed this year just like May was robbed last year. Laurie is truly one of the luckiest men alive to have got this gig...not just once, but twice. Baffling!

Madge showed Slater up so easily in the coaching stakes, it's a shame that we didn't learn from that lesson...when you're bringing a team together for a few games the coach matters. Madge and Bennett proved that. On paper we should win, but that's typically when we lose.
