Mitchell Allgood came of age last night

I thought Mitchell Allgood last night established himself as a permanent fixture in our 17. Promoted to the starting side ahead of Shackleton, he ran with great gusto and made 97 metres from 9 hitups. Considering he was in the starting side against the big Souths pack, I thought it was a tremendous effort for a kid who is still in his first year of NRL. I think he's clearly moved up ahead of Shackleton on our prop forward ranks. Indeed, I would suggest his performance last night probably was as good as any that Timmy Mannah produced in his debut season. Given that he's a really good trainer, I expect him to have a big off-season and I think he's going to come back next year as a very high quality front rower who is going to give us great value next year.

  • I agree, he was class last night.

It would have been hard for him to keep trying seeing how his fellow forwards (apart from Fui) were awful.

  • fui, mannah & allgood have been magic this year.

If it wasn't for them all those close games would have been smashings.

  • Seriously moving ahead of Shacks in the "pecking order" in our forward ranks  is no reason to get excited LMAO!
  • Parramatta have a great forward pack with Tim Mannah, Fui Fui Moi Moi, Mitchell Allgood, Shane Shackleton, Justin Poore (Now that he has made his return from injury).

All Parramatta needs is a good halfback which they now have for next year in Chris Sandow, Five-eighth in Ben Roberts or Jarryd Hayne depending what Steve Kearney wants to do with his team.

Furthermore, Parramatta also are in desperate need of wingers and centres, Jacob Loko was showing some promise until he was injured, The impending signing of Willie Tonga, his brother Esi which has already signed and young Rory Brien played pretty well on debut in a losing team
  • He has been outstanding since the Panthers game, glad to see he is fulfilling the potential he showed in the NYC!
  • Yep, we've hit gold with this kid.
  • I'm pleased to have seen Mitch's development this year, as he becomes a better footy player.
I think he's done a tremendous job, and he will continue to get better.
  • Agreed! I was pleasantly surprised at his debut against the Warriors. Then he had some quiet games in the mid rounds. It seems now that he is back and he had a dig in a team that got flogged last night. More of this type of attitude please
  • He has definitely imrpoved but we did get beat by 50 so i'm tipping he missed a few tackles. He still looks very slow and lacks some basic skills. Although if Tim Mannah can be classed as a rep player this guy could be an Australian Rep.
    • Interesting you say slow because there have been some games where he has used lots if footwork and lateral movement and looked like a lock. Other games he has look slow and jaded.

I guess he fills the role Armit. Cordoba or Latimore have had in the past and he defintalely better than all of them IMO
