If the shit for brain people who run Parramatta have half a brain they would have James Maloney at the club as a assistant coach regardless if Jaosn Ryles agrees or not , Jason has achieved nothing to dictate anything to the club .
Maloney has been let go by the cowboys after being caught drink driving so we have a golden opportunity to add someone the club has never had and still don't have in the coaching staff which is a winner.
Jason Ryles and Nathan Brown are not much of a upgrade to Brad Arthur and Trent Barrett on paper , Ryles is just another rookie coach who has sat next to Bellamy for a few years and their is absolutely nothing remarkable about Nathan Brown who had failed more than he's succeeded .
James Maloney has more football nous than Ryles and Brown combined and more importantly he's a winner who knows what is needed to be a win , Maloney could also be the person who can finally wake Dylan Brown .

I like Maloney, but it would be fair to say there has to be more than a drink driving charge to be sacked by the Cowboys. There has to be more to the story.
It was low range too according to the story, so something else happened to sack a coach just before the finals. He either has something lined up for next year already so rather him leave now, or other problems have happened.
But why let it be the DUI as the reason for being sacked if he had a job lined up elsewhere? I wouldn't let that come out as a reason to be sacked as it can tarnish your career.
I think if anything, there have been issues and the DUI is a get out for NQ to move him on. If Maloney was going elsewhere and NQ have used this news to just move him on now, i would be livid being Maloney, compared to what players in the game do and get sacked for in comparison.
Would i take him though, he would have a great League mind.

Exactly no way assistant coach role will happen as Ryles would already have an idea of direction he wants to go in. Maloney lived out Penrith and enrolled his kids at school prior to Cowboys role so maybe a consultancy role with parra would suit both him and Ryles.
They have 3 assistants, not 4. Cayless is NSW cup coach that is it.
