  • We played Tigers R2 then again R7 last year and I don't seem to remember anyone sooking then.

    • Exactly. If we were the best team in the comp draw is irrelevant.
There is no hit job on us, it is simply we are a big draw card on ratings and crowds so we play the other big draw teams.

      • There is supposed to be a level of balance here, but we seem to get most of the top 8 trams twice every year. The aim is to win as many games as we can, but the draws make this hard to achieve.

        • Again, we play Sydney teams twice like Penrith and Dogs as they are rivals and draw big ratings. It so happens those two are really good at the moment so makes the draw look worse.
Same with Souths and Roosters playing twice, Brisbane playing all QLD teams and Melbourne twice.

Every year without fail we will have Penrith, Dogs, Tigers at least twice.

Lets face it you are never going to get a perfect draw. I mean look at it last year you draw Canberra twice and think sweet they are a tip for the spoon easy games. Turns out Canberra are good then you realise you have them twice and complain we got screwed. Like we have no clue who will be good and not and makes the draw look better or worse simple as that.

Who knows we could draw Dragons, Tigers and Titans twice and say how good is this. Then those 3 are great teams and we all think NRL are doing this on purpose.

          • Sure but you can base it on 2025 results. That's the only indicator we have. At least use it.

          • So the competition is by no means fair if we don't play every team twice and there is no thought to attempt to even out the draw. At one stage years ago there were two conferences, which would get updated based on the previous year's results. That meant that both were as strong as each other. That doesn't happen now, and the draw is guided purely by money. I get that this is a business, but first and formost it is a competition where each team should have equal opportunity to win. We are no longer watching sport, it's just another form of entertainment.

  • Irrelevant we loose at magic round no matter who we play wed loose to the bye.

I think we've won once at magic round

  • Complete BS we are obviously getting scewed by the draw this year

    • Yeah like the NRL want us to suffer like Tigers. Channel 9 have that Magic Round game and honestly. Again let's say we are a top 4 team quality you would get same draw and think "what a good draw"

when you are an average team the draw more likely loos bad all the time.

  • The board only cares about the money.

Team success is clearly an afterthought.

"Why do we need to be the same as virtually every team? There's no rule that says you need to take home games away. We had 13 at home in 2025 thanks to the Tigers and Panthers. That's great, in 2026 we could have had 14 at home. There is literally no…"

"Definitely nothing signed. We are in the mix. This will be the most important contract of Keons career. He's in his prime and will be looking to lock down a 4-5 year contract and get some security which you can understand. I doubt he stays at Souths…"
