There's been plenty of criticism aimed at the Parramatta Eels lately for not securing Lachlan’s signature, but honestly, it's a huge positive that we didn’t make a knee-jerk decision to sign Michael Maguire.
Let’s be real—Madge has won just one of his last six, and his Donkeys are being flogged at Brookvale with a star-studded lineup. The signs aren’t great. There are already rumblings coming out of the Broncos camp about his intense style, and one player has already been shown the door.
It’s really starting to look like we dodged a bullet.
Meanwhile, Jason Ryles has done a far better job so far—working with a squad full of development players and dealing with key injuries in crucial positions. And yet, the effort and attitude have been spot on.
Go Rylsey!

Madge was a terrible pick for the Broncos. They clearly had cultural problems and needed a coach who could develop culture. Walters failed because he was too chummy and had no authority or respect. The answer wasn't to find "the opposite of Walters" which is what they did.
So they've now injected a coach who is known to be bad for culture because he's too demanding and hard edged.
Dumb dumb dumb. They have the talent, they just needed a culture building coach to bring the cohesion and hard work out. Hopefully Madge gets the flick and comes back to Origin and Internationals where he's best suited - sharp bursts where his unrealistic expectations can be met for a short period by excellent players.
"After seeing how he replaced Gutho with Iongi I think you have to be pretty confident in who he goes with and as long as these buggers behind the scenes on this recruitment committee abide with who he goes with then imo I'd be reasonably confident…"

Madge needs two or three new bloods with some toughness. Too many boys playing for the Broncos. He needs a Kevin Campion type leader.
