Seems like a few things are starting to go our way with the Ado Carr negative sample, best and knights dispute and even grabbing Luai for half price for a season. Not used to all these little things going our way lol. Bring on 2027

Neither is Smith so what's your point Brown will be the starting half Holbrooks already shown his hand. For all we no the recruitment of Brown could be the big reason KP ended all the media enuendo that he may leave.
Brown must be doing something right because where ever that guy goes winning follows him us first the kiwis and now Newcastle in my eyes the guys a winner.I mean he left here is the club in a better place on the park.Moses played his best football with him he's been bog average since he's left granted talent around him is bog average also and yet we still haven't got his replacement.
lol is he like a leprechaun who gives his team some magical boost from the sidelines? They only won 9 from 15 when he played , 60% from a team that charged onto the GF once the myth was injured. Not really a glowing reference. Hardly team changing type stardom. Infact they were a noticeably more dynamic side once he vanished. 62% winning without him. Imagine that , win more games without the 1.4 million dollar man. Any businessman will tell you that if you invested 1.4 mil for a worse result , someone is answering some questions. Funnily that guy was sacked already. Amd you're going to tell me the Knights aren't regretting signing Dylan just a tiny bit ? If they lose Best , it'll be most likely just a little bit of regret and then some.
Notice you didn't you include his Parramatta stint in your love fest . Losing seemed to follow him so much that Ryles decided he wasn't even good enough to make our starting side in his final year .
history favours my argument . Statistically Newcastle were better without Brown, trying to credit Ponga staying to Browns recruitment is as far fetched as your early season claims that Brown somehow was to credit for Newcastle's change in form. It's was undeniably proven that this was hotshit. Can only imagine the rubbish you'd have been preaching had Brown been piggybacked into the GF. You'd have been crowing about how Brown was the catalyst for a whole clubs fortune 😂.
Now you're somehow still trying to save face by insisting without the bench warming Brown , Ponga wouldn't even exist lol. Holbrook will only be including Brown very likely at the expense of Best , because he has to not because he wants to. Him and Sandon Smith have a great relationship, so don't be too confident Brown will walk straight back in unless there's external influence or injury. He's not the guy who just rewards players based on reputation. You have to earn your spot , hence his success. Unlike Parramatta where brown could be dogshit and just keep his spot. Until Ryles arrived that is. Then we saw what a coach without external influences really thought of him.
Paying a specialist centre insane money is a really fast way to unbalance your cap and roster. Bradman Best is a quality player, but he isn't the reason the Eels could possibly improve enough to play finals football. Im a huge fan of Best and would love see him at the Eels, but the price needs to be right. Quality centres are a want, not a need. When braking the roster into groups, ( for example, your spine, middles, edge forwards and outside backs) your centres are closer to the bottom of the list. I think today's wingers have become at least as valuable, if not more valuable than centres.
That new cap increase thing probably factors in, if it takes 1 million to get best probably have to do it. Outside backs are an issue for Parra for sure
Agree with those sentiments 100% Slippery, that is why I advocate Burton as a better choice than Best, Burton offers so many options in an overall sense for Parra's needs and whist Best maybe a more dynamic indivual, he is still a one trick pony...... Of course I would be happy to have both....gee those two in a package will meet our future needs.
If the Best situation drags on beyond the world cup, he won't be coming.
He knows our offer and he knows the Newcastle offer. There's a 10 day cooling period so if it's not done within a week, we have very little chance.
We must be due for a huge scandal to unravel it all soon.....
Should be going for Bostock at same time, if we lose Best, we need to grab Bostock, 2 pronged attack
Thats correct. We should be offering the same money for both. First in gets more of the pie. I feel now this best situation may drag on.
I guess you could see things as being due to luck. It's good to have choice, to have options available to you, not be in a position of inferiority or desperation. I think we've just made a conscious effort to change our ways from how we conduct business. In the near term there's going to be some pain but in the long run it's going to pay dividends.
