          • Saying X-factor puts him in same bracket as Cleary and Walsh for example. Those two particularly are X-factor no question.

            • That's not in the argument, are you saying they are x factors, undeniably so along with many others.

I would say that Cleary is a generational player, possibly the GOAT, Walsh was fantastic the other night, so was Latrell at times and Turbo at others.......

I would therefore say that you have x-factor players by degree and you need to be very careful how you qualify them.

              • Well i qualified the ones that i believe are in another comment. Teddy, Ponga, Walsh, Cleary, Turbo, Latrell, Papenhuyzen. Players like Katoa is getting there if he keeps up with his potential, Dearden could get there.

To me the ones who are X-Factor are those that create something from nothing, those that come up with that play in the dying minutes under pressure. Cleary is the example of course as he is the best in the world.

          • I agree Lomax provides plenty of X factor what he does changes games.

X Factor imo unmasks itself in many ways.

Ill say this if we lose Lomax we are in trouble and they'll have to lean on Moses even more which is what we don't want.

            • X-factor is someone who can do something from nothing to change the game. Not many players in the game currently do that. Particularly consistently.

Not saying you, but many see a great player and put X-factor tag on them. To me Walsh on Sunday is definition of X-Factor. Cleary in 2023 GF that is X-factor. Turbo when healthy and firing is X-factor. Trell can be X-Factor, Ponga, Tedesco, Papenhuyzen are examples to me of X-Factor. Those players can win your team a game and can change the game instantly.

But Coryn you can definately see it differently, doesn't mean you are wrong. He is a massive loss for us and not a lot out there that can average 200 per game at the back.

I feel Lomax is not X-factor. However, we are a weaker team without him. His metres in the backfield are top 5 in the comp easily for his position.

              • X factor is a term whereas contexts massively misunderstood.

                • What do you consider X-Factor.

                  • When Lomax kicked the field goal to win the game against St George and Moses wasn't there.....Lomax became the x factor player.

Nobody else would/could have done it!

                    • Right, so Jack Cogger kicked a FG to put Newcastle into the lead against the Warriors, also kicked another this year. Is he X-Factor?

Sean O'Sullivan last year beat Warriors in Golden Point with a 2 point FG. Is he an overall X-factor player?

Im generally asking as examples on your thoughts.

                    • Lomax kicking a field goal may be an example of an X factor play. Doesn't make him an X factor player.  If a fullback makes a barnstorming hit up off the back fence it doesn't make him a forward.
