This should be our team list vs Manly im hoping.  Williams and Guymer both did a great job against the Dogs.  We cannot go with Kelma Tuilagi back in the starting 13.  We looked much better with Moretti starting and Williams out wider.  Both Williams and Guymer have a higher work rate than both Kelma and Kit kat and it showed against the Dogs

Saxon Pryke another great debutant, and another with a high work rate may have cemented a bench spot for the remainder of 2026.  In the centres Araz Nava made a fist of it and I would retain him in the centres with Penasini,  with Russell to come back onto the wing.

I would also keep Mataele in the 17, keeping out Kelma who imo drops out of the 19 completely.  Kelma on his day can be a devastating ball runner,  but he's too inconsistent and one or two good games means nothing in this competition

Also Debelin starts. Walker much better off the bench.  Debelin adds size from the start.

    • I would add Penisini into the simple job plan too, run hard, tackle hard, no offloads. Seems to work well when we're keeping it simple and the other more creative players can take advantage off it.

      • 💯

Seeing as this team can't match it with fitness against most teams or defend a repeat set, best if Ryles gets them to play a simple error free, high completion type footy. We don't have the X-factor players to change momment when it's lost.

        • Sound strategy to me Zip. Keep it simple stupid.

    • Yes I agree on those bullet passes to a player 5 meters away.  Its not on as possession is more important with these new rules

  • I'd go

    1: J Papali

    2: S Russell

    3:: W Penisini

    4: A Nanva

    5: J Addo Carr

6: Lorenzo ( volkman missed 10 tackles last week

    7: moses

    8: J De Belin

    9: R Smith

    10: Jr Paulo

    11: C Guymer

    12: J Williams

    13: S Pryke

    14: D Walker

    15: K Tuilagi

    16: T Brown ( debut him )

    17: TDS

    18: T Mataele

    19: B Kelly

    • Volkman done a great job containing preston unlike blaize tslagi

    • Volkman might have bounced off 10 tackles, but they had to surgically reove his shoulder from Preston's ribs after the game. I've never seen someone shut down Preston like he did last week. Take that 10 missed tackes with a grain of salt, because it usually ended up with Preston reeling out of the hit and on the ground.

      • Any chance we've stumbled upon our long term 5/8? Late bloomer perhaps. I was keen to see Joash have a crack but he's a little on the chaotic side of things.

        • Potentially, yeah... but Volkman would need to do that week-in, week-out. He showed us his potential, it just depends if he can lift and do that consistently, which is what real first graders can acheive and sets them apart from the rest of the crop.
