    • Maybe it speaks volumes about how some fans accept mediocrity

    • Yeah, i would like to keep him but "Can't lose him?" Wouldn't go that far just yet.

      • Probably saying it because we have zero other options and factoring in the definite possibility that we will not land anyone decent as a signing.

        • I think he always is about back up Badge, that said we would get some comfort if we had a star centre injured and we had to call him in. i.e. look at our injury record year gone, depth is definately part of the equation, as I said he is probably in the 22 every week, maybe the 19 but not a starter unless of a definitive injury to someone, I really think he offers more as a winger than say Kelly and I bite my tongue saying that, as it is hard to knock Kelly after the season just finished.

Lets assume we get a star centre and he gets injured, would Kelly who was always primarily a centre be a better replacement there and have Samrani on the wing......I accept having them both in our backline together becomes a real issue when we look at the overall quality of our backline?

i.e I would like us to get to the stage that Kelly and Samrani are not good enough to be in our starting backline, we have to see some concerted moves to achieve that!

          • Your last paragraph is the minimum we should be aiming to achieve. IMO none of our 2026 #2,3 or 4 should be regular starters. They should definitely be in the mix, but fighting for the FG spot against other starters.

Now that JAC is properly stuffed we can throw #5 in there as well.

We have the following for 2027 Kelly, Penisini, Simonson, Samrani and Nanva. Then for back up we have ....NOBODY. That is depressing at best.

        • I guess, but doesn't mean we throw everything at him to keep him either.

          • Absolutely right.

    • I think 400 is too high and i would like to keep him for the reasons espoused. My guess is he was only on about 200 and Parra may have offered 300.....pure supposition on my part!

  • We are chasing centres. His preferred position is centre. It makes sense he wants a starting spot at another club. If he wanted to transition into the second row even then there are players in front of him. He doesn't have a spot in a roster trying to get into finals.

To be honest. In that Lebanon squad he should stand out. He has been underperforming in a reserve grade squad.

    • He isn't standing out.  Defensively he goes well at centre,  but that position is about taking the opportunities through speed and guile,  neither of which he possess.  Id offer a back up role at 300k. Thats it.

The geniuses here would probably offer 600k
