        • Sivo had upside coming to us too. There is a reason why Jesse is not getting picked. Even during Origin they go elsewhere. I think it would be an alright signing but there is a reason he is stuck in Cup. Age regardless.

  • Great work Parra. Get rid of Jim and MON. Couldn't offers a decent contract to a guy across a town.

    • I keep saying it, add Rogers. As it wouldn't surprise if they did sack MON if Rogers gets it.

  • Well now the JR has come out and basically said our recruitment needs to improve and we have now missd out on Jenkins, I dare said the spotlight/blowtorch/toilet brush will now be applied to the R&R department

  • Surely we throw the bank at herbie, eels can also make him a millionaire, we need to pay overs, herbie is the one. If he talking to roosters, surely he will at least talk to us right?

    • Though yeah we can offer say $1.4 mil for example. Roosters can do the same and even more with their TPA's.

Ok not sure if this me just going mad from supporting this team, but here me out. Would anyone even think of Herbie at 6? It is far fetched, never played it though does have skills to be very effective. Kicking might need some technical work but rest of his game is fine for the position. In that sense, it is a lot, but makes it reasonable for your cap.

I know i will get some people calling me out for that suggestion, i guess it is a decent conversation starter. I for one usually hate when people say "How about this player at this spot" but we are that desperate we have to try something.

      • Na, for me, he comes across as a centre, running off iongi and moses, ado car outside him. Changes the whole dynamic of our back line. Burton as 6, suddenly we look a far more dangerous side.

        • In that case, i myself just cannot pay that much for a Centre. I would overpay, but hitting $1.5mil even for a Centre? That breaks your cap when you have to pay spine players. Unless you move him to Fullback, but we know that ain't happening with Iongi signed til 2030.

$1 mil is too much but for Farnworth you can justify it. But unfortunately we need to just do a Dylan Brown type deal for Farnworth where he is the highest paid Centre in history and not just by $100k or so.

Also he wont have Moses, it will be whoever is at 6. Also, not crazy on Burton per say either as a 6. I agree with many here he could be a better Centre, but just do not see him leaving to play Centre. Plus, what i will cost for Burton too, we would not be signing or upgrading anyone til Moses retires. It is too much. That would have us with 3 players on well over a mil. It is great having those players but still need quality around them.

Farnworth though is the best Centre in the comp. Crichton has fallen and will continue to as Dogs crumble around him.

          • Yer, i take your points there, and dont disagree. Interesting times, I feel like we will at least talk to him, who knows how high eels will be prepared to go. Bostock would be a great fall back position.

            • No harm in asking and seeing what his goals are. What would he consider. Have a starting offer and get him keen and keep negotiating. Does Captaincy interest him enough? Does playing a spine position?

Worst they can say is no.

Bostock i would actually try for. Still unrealistic but reasonable. Still would have to overpay massively, like if you offered $800-900k, again massive over pay, but i think he would at least consider.

"Well he would be going rate for top notch Wingers. Around the $500-650k range. Maybe pushing $700k since he has played Origin and is named in Game II squad."
