Recently, on a podcast that is run by Taylan and Terrell May, Iongi has stated he would like to remain an Eel for his career to repay the faith shown in him by the club.
Question is can MON get a deal done ?

Ponga who could be going to Rugby for all we know. Walsh yes. Iongi won't be picked anytime soon but don't want to risk it either that he plays Origin with Ponga and Walsh out.
He should be backing himself to get even better rather than settle for a 10 years at good but not potentially optimal $$.
Another 4 years at good money initially and then both sides of the equation can see what the go is. Ideally, another 4 + years at a lot more.

Yeah something around that 3-4 year deal extension. No club should be going near those 10 year disaster deals avoid that lol.

Yeah I thought you meant just keep him on 1-2 year deals and hope he stays kind of thing, I don't think any club should be handing out anything more then 4 year deals really
He has been training with Roger Fabri prior to joining the Tonga camp. Very happy with that. I thought the one thing Iongi lacks was a yard of top speed. So hopefully he is slighly faster and quicker from the training
"Bailey Simonsson played six (6) games for the Eels in 2025. He played either right wing (replacing Lomax injured or SOO) or right centre (replacing Penisini (suspension I think?)). His Win/Loss was 1-5.
R6, R Wing vs Raiders 12-50 (L)
R7, R Wing vs…"

Hey EA wondering if you had any bolters to keep an eye out for in the outside backs? Andes Johansson or Rokosuka?
