If it was Jarryd Hayne...

If it was Jarryd Hayne and not Greg Inglis at the centre of this latest scandal, what would you be calling for? A suspension, rubbed out to the end of the season, contract torn up?

  • Doen't matter who it is I wouldn't judge anyone untill he is proven guilty. If he is guilty then sudpend him for long period. Anyway I think hitting a girl is really low act.
  • Agree with Wild Eel, innocent until proven guilty, BUT, hitting women just isn't on, even if they hit you first, call your mother a $@#%, or what ever. it takes a bigger man to walk away. But if it were Hayne or anyone else of great potential or value............., its a difficult question, being that if they dumped him/ tore up his contract only to see him go to....... say the Sea Eagles or Broncos a few months later when the storm (no pun intended) has calmed down and to go onto win a premiership, all because clubs don't necessarily always stick together when they probably should with issues like these...........
I personally feel that the NRL should have more control over people that bring the game into disrepute.........now I'm not perfect, made mistakes, had plenty of chances, but there must be a price to pay when and if circumstances PROVE to be TRUE
  • If it was Hayne i would have the girl charged for bringing the game into disripute and send her to relationship counselling to learn to stop being so lippy.Just kidding,i hate to think what we would do if it was Jarryd but when are these clowns going to learn? Its bad enough if they hit a guy when they are out on the drink but a woman, seriously thats a disgrace.I stick up for players who just act like a fool on the piss and do what most of us have done at some stage in our lives but by hitting a girl he deserves everything he gets.
  • Yes we all need to leave this one to the courts, if he is guilty then I think they should ban him for the rest of the year or until he completes a councelling regiment, then make him do charity work for battered women, but if he is innocent then we can continue to call him a traitor to his state.
    • Yeah, karma's a bitch....
  • Personally, I applaud the Storm for taking the swift action they did. As we've seen this year with Greg Bird, such an incident, if proven, is not taken lightly by the Courts so by immediately standing Inglis down, Melbourne have not created a rod for their own back in the way Cronulla, Manly and the Roosters have.

Inglis faces the Victorian Magistrates Court today and while such proceedings are on foot, it makes sense for him to remain suspended.

If it were Hayne facing this predicament, I trust Parramatta management would act in the same manner.
    • I agree completely
  • I am with B Man 100% on this. Stood down from club duties untill issue resolved. Contract in place just not allowed to play.

If guilty then the contract is torn up. In a work context being stood down with pay whilst an investigation takes place is standard.
  • If it was Hayne - give him a very harsh warning - but because it's Inglis - never let him play origin again :)
  • i dont think jarryd hayne is a coward and would do such a thing as hitting a girl so i dont think it will ever happen
