Gus left fuming over Jackson cap relief.

The gift that keeps on giving. Canterbury medically retiring Jackson for cap relief, though they have not said that on record we all know that is the reason. They thought it would clear 650k, instead it only frees up 200k if that.

My word this is hilarious.

  • The NRL is correct in doing this. Just a shame they don't apply the same rigour to the Roosters.

    • Canterbury trying to be too clever and backfired massively.

  • haha sucked in

  • And sone were saying Gus was a magician and had all this space in his cap to keep on signing player upon player .

  • Suck shit

    •

But Ciraldo revealed the “incredible” 31-year-old was willing to hang up the boots without a job on the table — although the Bulldogs were never going to let that happen.

“He did it without asking for a job on the staff or anything like that. He was happy to just walk away from the final year of his contract,” he said.

And just like that , Ciraldo ruined any chance there was of the NRL buying this medical retirement rubbish. How fucking dumb does he think they are to belive a bloke just gives up hundreds of thousands in wages without a promised income to go to? Please ..... the blokes only missed a handful of games his whole career and yet we are supposed to belive he was not medically sound to play his last season  ?  To be honest the Dogs shoud've had to wear his whole salary on their cap and also copped a fine for trying to rort the cap.

  • This is a perfect example why the NRL should implement rules that anyone employed by a club should not be employed in media as conflict of interest and agendas are promoted .

he doesn't finish contract and then employed by club, off the nrl will have to count him towards the cap , in fact I think they were too lenient and his original contract should count towards the cap .
It's a something  that can he easily rorted by all clubs  if this is allowed . what would then stop the  tigers now to say to Moses we will offer you an additional year or two to current offer , don't worry you can retire a year or two early and we will just put you on our payroll

    • Exactly , and you only have to look at some of the clubs that were always in question about their cap and how many ex players they have on their books in various created roles.  A mate of mine is as close to the frontline as you can get , and if I didn't think I could get him in some serious trouble with clubs and mates of his , I could tell some absolute doozies of stories about a number of clubs over the years that he's told me.

  • Lol

  • 100% of his 2023 salary should have been applied
