Goal Kicking

How can you have a first grade professional team that can't kick a single goal? At half time we should have been up 20-6! In rugby the dudes can slot it for anywhere.

for the love of god! Get the entire backline after every training session and get them to kick at goal. We didn't even get near the goals! It's embarrassing

  • Agree it's always been our archilles heal

even when Moses has been off ( he's off the whole night )

we have done nothing to fix if

    another BA SHITFUCKERY effort

    • What else do these players have to do? There should be competition to kick for goal. How you can have an entire team that can't even get near the goals is unbelievable

    • Now I've heard everything, it's BA's fault we can't kick goals.

    • Yeah, so true, some fans of opposition teams have no idea how lucky they are. We haven't had a kicker I was generally confident with since 2001. Re, tonight it's made worse considering it wasn't bad kicking conditions. There were no excuses, e.g. rain wind etc.

  • I'd be more incline to let Lomax kick next year instead of Moses. Take pressure of Moses so he can focus on the in game kicking. Either that or get Martyn on the wing. He's got a pretty damn good boot on him.

    •  Lomax is a great kicker - but why don't we have a great kicker? It's not a complicated thing. Line up the whole team, get a pro kicker, get everyone to kick. It's a skill that can be learnt through training. How can you have 13 players, 4 reserves and not one of them can kick a goal. We would have won that game with goal kicking.

      • Sanders is a decent goal kicker. I think they just didn't want to put any added pressure on him in his debut. I'd nearly say he will be goal kicker, if he stays in first grade, until Moses is back. Then again with the type of injury he got I'm not sure Moses will be kicking once he is back.

  • I watched our local under 18's the other day and they were slotting them from the sideline.

    • Exactly. It's something that is easily replicated at training. Go to the wings and kick.

if we had a decent kicker tonight we win. How can you it have 3-4 decent goal kickers in a team? It's something that is totally trainable

  • Gutho is a better goal kicker than what we are seeing at the moment,  his knee injury is obviously having an impact.

Next year we will have moses and lomax as first and second choice,  gutho will be 3rd choice,  that's not bad.

We don't have enough "between the ears" to get the players in the right shape for long enough periods "between the ears" on top of our inability to recruit wisely (baldy missing yardage and speed).

"Thanks buddy. BEM, fingers crossed we jag something (we could) because all the teams below us have byes coming up too which will counter our bye-related ump from 14th to 12th. We could end up really close to the bottom by the time Moses returns."

"You are right. Dolphins do have an older pack but they are supplemented by some young nimble players who are gaining great experience. Bennett has done a terrific job up there and the question has to be asked why other teams can readily recognise…"
