Tonight we see the battle of Brooky with the Eels again up against Manly, but this time on their turf and with a no doubt strong sense of redemption after a controversial win for the Eels a few weeks ago. Sanders makes his debut in a massive game, particularly for our boys. I have a feeling that we are going to get our arses handed to us tonight and face another week of media scrutiny and talk about BA in general.

Gutho makes the call on whether he kicks or not. Coaches don't sit in the box dictating who takes the kicks like under 7's. The coach may step in to tell them to take the two for a penalty , but that's as far as that goes. Coaches don't even dictate who kicks in a local Z grade comp . Captains and kickers sort that out.
Guthersons not about to hand a potential match winner from the sideline to a kid on debut unless that kid steps up and asks to. That's a huge pressure cooker situation he's not ready for.
But agree , these fucks have all week to practise and both Gutho and Brown kicked like Front Rowers on their final ever match kicking for a piss take .
Don't agree Wiz. Sanders is a bloody confident kid and is a really good goal kicker. When Gutho shanked the first two, the plan should have been to go to Sanders. BA should have sent the word down. Just can't afford to leave that amount of points on the field especially when they then went to Brown.
Again , I'm not saying Sanders can or can't kick. But unless you're on that paddock you don't know whether or not he felt he wanted to. Thats his and Guthersons call. Not even Arthur's . I've never played in a team in my adult life wheras a coach makes a call on who's taking penalties . Even when I played wogball the captain made these calls.
Sanders may be very well the best young kicker in the NRL mate, but it's the captain that'll make that call whether he takes a penalty shot or not. And to be honest if Gutherson thought he wasn't ready , then I'd 100% support that as you just don't know where the kids heads at. If he misses it could've dropped his head for the rest of the game.

I wish Martyn would get a consistent shot for us on the wing in NSW cup. You watch his highlights and you can see he is a future NRL winger. Foxx meets Paps. But also wouldn't be surprised if we go for Maumalo.
