Game day blog - Panthers vs Eels

What a game this should be!

We've waited all season to see this match up with the high flying eels taking on the competition heavyweights, the Panthers. Much has been said about the Panthers not having Cleary and yes, he is a big out for them, but having Burton come in is a pretty handy replacement. No crowd won't stop the Panthers from playing top shelf footy and I hope that the Eels know this.

The Eels find themselves only one win behind Penrith, but the run home for the Eels starts tonight. No Mahoney means I'm not as confident as I could be and no doubt the media will mention countless times that Cleary is out, but very little will be mentioned about Reed.

This is the Eels chance to prove the critics wrong and show that they can mix it with the big boys. Moses will have all of the NRL watching him tonight and the pressure on him will be immense. Will he grab this opportunity or fall under pressure?

It's time for him to shut a few critics up. Hopefully Moses will put high balls up to their wingers all night.

I can't wait for this game...

So, who wins and by what margin?

MOM?

GO YOU EELS!!!

  • Panthers by 10.

    MOM To'o.

  • Shaun Lane will destroy the Panthers pack with his power and aggression. I pity them.

  • Eels by 14 ,
    MOM - Moses

  • Both Freddy Fittler and Andrew Johns are tipping an Eels win but Jamie Soward is tipping a Panthers win. I will go for an Eels win by + 10. Is the track wet or dry as that might make a difference and also the refereeing/bunker might alter things as well which i hope doesn't happen. Its a more legitimate and even game when the bunker stays out of it and the ref let's the game flow. I reckon Eels 36 vs Panthers 10 and man of the match Isaiah Papali'i

    • Track will be damp. It's foggy out here, very little wind and there will be dew on the ground by kick off.

      • If the track is damp i reckon it will favour the Eels.

    • Hey Monts. I actually was listening to the radio down south coast today and they had Coward on and he was tipping and upset and the eels win 18-16

      • A win by 2 would be interesting. The commentators don't think the Eels can hold their nerve if the games go close.

  • Birthday today, Mitch will step and Eels to win by 8

    MOM  Mitch Moses.

  • Read a headline from Matty Johns saying the Eels would lose. Rest of article paywalled, but pretenders, he suggests. We will soon see. All the tipsters are split 50/50. I tip Eels by 8, maybe Panthers by 14. Doh!

A few wins and suddenly all is well according to the board and then they extend BA for a few more years.
Rinse repeat and the problem will continue with no end in sight."
