"That's an intersesting thought. A very risky investment however because of injury issues and whether or not he's any good at 5/8.

"That's not a bad lineup at all. Our forward stocks look promising, especially with some of the good juniors coming through. I'm starting to think that we might not even sign a big name forward. It dosen't seem to be Ryles' style and if the current…"

Legend
And kicked goals with a broken eye
I remember driving back from Tamworth as a kid in the back of the old HQ, legs sticking to the vinyl seats in the heat and breathing in the Winnie reds from the old man when over the radio came the news of his season ending injury that came in the trial game.
Dad pulled the car over because I was crying and asked me what was wrong?
" Didn't you hear that dad? The crow won't play anymore "
He replied " that's nothing to cry about"
I said back to him a little disgruntled with his lack of interest in the news " you don't understand!!! You don't bleed parra like I do dad"
Dad is now 83 and on Father's Day last Sunday we had a laugh about that day.
He as been I lifelong parra fan but on that day I overtook him as our families number one parra fan.
The Crow remains one of my all time favourite eel, a great player a great man and when I head down to Gerringong to his pub and lucky enough to see him there and have a quick chat.
I find myself in the presence of a true gentleman and outright great bloke.
I loved the watch god players had a decent sense of humour back then.
I loved the golden boots line and how he mentions team fans they lost against because of him missing kicks used to love him.God how times have changed just a generational difference. The best thing is they can have a good laugh about themselves when they weren't going good literally taking the piss out of themselves and having a great old belly laugh about it.Ray Hadley good job with the interview too.
Yep just finished watching it now, what a great nostalgic ride that was, I forgot how close we got in 84 and was great to hear the crow go over the whole period from 76 -86. We really were blessed for that 10 year period.
Yep agree I think ray did a great job and seems to be very close with a lot of eels players, kind of makes sense why he slams the eels so much and demands better from the club (fitzy aside)
