Agree with these.
Would of been hard to argue no matter who got any of these awards.
Well deserved to all, cannot argue against any of them
Ryles said Junior was awarded it because he was a big part of the side's change in culture. That when Ryles came and wanted to change their playing style and asked Junior to play a different way, Junior led from the front. And having a senior player showing he was able to adapt and change after so long playing a specific style meant almost every other player fell in line.
Thanks Super that's good to know and deserved by Junior. He has had a great year and reworked his role so well. Clearly looks like he enjoyed playing his game too. Must've been like a breadth of fresh air ;)
Like HKF I only wish there was another available award for Riley...he definitely is a worthy Fan's Favourite.
Well done boys now rest up dont worry about rep footy just come back next year fresh
Either Williams or Iongi for KT medal. So though I leaned Iongi I have no issues Williams getting it.
Apart from the recipients i would like to aknowledge Riley Smith and JAC and our 3 first grade coaching assistants. Magnificent choices by Ryles (hindsight) after no one knew much about them with the exception of Nathan Brown who got the usual reception from the "haters group" who let nobody down with their usual shit judgements.
Thing that people thought he was actually coaching when being an assistant and being a HC are completely different jobs. For example i reckon Adam O'Brien would be an amazing assistant coach. Newcastle's defence for a period was incredible and quite frankly made them competitive more often. But people will put his head coach record as a reason to no. If he was hired as head coach then different story but as an assistant coaches have a different skill set and requirements.
The best thing about these hires are there would be no undermining. Moa might eventually want to be an NRL head coach, Wisemental hasn't really held a HC job in Rugby so not sure he would in NRL and Brown is adament he never wants to be a HC again. So it will be pretty continuous for the future and all still reletively young with a mixture of experience. Brown as a HC and player, Wisemantel as an assistant in Rugby so has coaching experience in general and Moa some in SL and playing.
Sometimes it is not about hiring the best it is hiring the right fit, these coaches nonetheless are the right fit.
100% Agree, just look at Jason Taylor, would love to have him as an assistant coach, would never let him be a head coach again.
