Non Eels blog but wtf
It looks like everyone's Electricity bill will rise by at least 40% from 1st of July this year. I've noticed that mine went up from a flat rate of 29c per klw to something like 40c, they stating that wholesale prices are rising & some bs about extreme weather wtf, and infrastructure upgrades.
I've shopped around on the net yesterday and found prices as cheap as 29c to 33c
The daily charges also went up from 70c to 121c, almost double mother fkrs.
Anyways, all the best in finding better deals.
It looks like inflation will go through the roof aswell, as major companies aren't going to absorb these price rises easily.

Coryn I like your thinking about how you approached building your home. Independent from the influences surrounding us about more is best. I have issues in my family about hoarding stuff they don't really need. Takes alot of valuable space and create.s a lot of headaches for when its time to declutter your life's influences around materialism to fill in psychological holes in your make up.
materialism to fill in psychological holes...My parents put effort into showing me that this is how society rolls.. They leverage their religion(jesus didn't think much of "stuff"...and his loyalty program does not do discounts. I don't buy into the Cronocles of the Sky-Wizard, but they steered me away from hollow materialism....and it stuck.....Don't get me wrong, I love some of my stuff, (Guitar, the ute, coffee machine,,chainsaw, gods own stereo and...) Useful stuff, but still just stuff, replaceable...it comes, it comes, it comes, it comes, it goes
My daughter gets an instant gratification hit when she gets a parcel to pickup from the post office and then puts the contents into a full cupboard. Never to be seen again.
Do you still play the guitar?. Lovely thing to be addicted to.
I played bass in a few bands but playing alone is....not much fun. I am not a good guitarists asshole, but i write songs with it and keep myself, and sometimes Randette entertained. I should have put my Boss effect pedals on that list Got a few faves, the rest get rotated. New sounds open new doors. I have no aspirations for it anymore....just to please myself
I had a friend years ago who could sing and play a guitar. We had an outside fire going a fair bit then Nothing better than playing music and listening to someone sing on a cold night around a fire..Do you do country and western by any chance? ( Just kidding)
I live in Country music land. At this point it means mentioning the word "town"in a song while wearing a cowboy hat. Boring musically to me. Playing bass to most cpuntry music requires methadone. Never controversial, always pining for before-fore times.
When we talk music, i tend to post the last song that i listened to properly. I was talking with Randette about coversongs that overtake the original in the public consciousness, even though the original has "more of the song", the feel it was concieved with. Christine Anu sings nice...but it ain't this. Australian soul music
Warumpi Band...My Island Home
Nice one, Randy. Our indigenous friends have a lovely connection with nature. These days, we seem to be experiencing a lot of angry music, reflecting our times.
I have been participating with a small group of artists for years on Wednesday nights where we do life drawing..The lady who hosts our group does a regular Monday night radio presentation of songs on Bay Fm (Byron Bay). She has a huge exposure and interest in all sorts of music from history and all nationalities. She specially selects some great music for our sessions. She has recently been playing some material from an Iranian lady who graduated from Tehran University with a music degree. Unfortunately, she couldn't perform in Iran unless she performed with a male. She was very heavily involved with human rights and has moved to the USA. Randette and you may be interested
in this one.I think it is great

I couldn't play it properly...Randette snoozing....but the playlist that came with it has some Aussie treasures. Oh no not you again speaks to me...Throw Your arms around me takes me back in time...as does Bow River...Last Goodbye can make Randette cry...and we used to play an up-tempo Ship of fools now and again.
It had the wrong Paul Kelly song though
Angry music speaks to me...and often comes out of me
Dont need a band anymore. Feed your song to AI. Take the drums and whatever stems you cant play yourself. Stick them in your Daw and finish it yourself.
Publish for free to all the music sites for free with Routenote.
Wish I had this tech 20 years ago.
Randy Masa Vahdat is an Iranian singer who combines traditional cultural music with contemporary. Very focused on an impossible task of trying to bring understanding cultural awareness in a very divisive world. Very much humanitarian and equal rights focus. The right time of person you need in conversation in these ugly times
