Eels sign Australian Schoolboy from Brisbane

Parramatta Eels have secured a major coup by signing highly-rated Queensland schoolboy star Jackson Koina, who chose to join the Eels over staying with the Brisbane Broncos. Koina, a standout at the recent national schoolboys championships, won Queensland’s player of the carnival and was named in the Australian Schoolboys team.

The Year 12 student, and son of former Eels player Nathan Koina, will move to Sydney at the end of the season, marking another key signing under Jason Ryles’ rebuild at Parramatta. The Eels have made junior development a priority, boasting seven Australian Schoolboy reps in the last two years.
