Probably the first game this year we are expected to win and win comfortably. Will be a real test for Ryles to make sure complacency doesn't kick in and we still play a good game. Cowboys look terrible at the moment but we can't just expect to show up and win.

I agree, we were the better of 2 teams not having a good game.
We probably will be, BUT this is the next test for Ryles and this group of players.
Everyone knows we're improving. Including our own players, but now how do they handle the pressure of being favourites? Do they get cocky and underestimate opponents, start missing on the basics for lack of focus, or do they crumble under pressure of being favourites and expected to perform?
I'm sure we'll fail some of these tests next 12 months or so, and it's Ryles job to regulate that and improve the mentality of the team, not just their skill and tactics.
I'm loving this group, but we're entering the business end of their development now .
For sure, the senior players like Moses and Junz should lead the way and earn the right to play expansive footy. If they come out and just start throwing it around playing touch footy we will be in trouble.
Every game from now on is a spoon game for us we need to win to avoid the spoon it is simply as that
Even when we were one of the better sides a few years ago we often struggled when we were expected to win. I cannot see any reason this game will be any different now we are a struggling side. Cowboys could easily win it. I wouldnt even be surprised if we flog them or they flog us. Such a weird team in a weird, impossible to tip competition.

Good way to gage if we are up for it this week is the kick chase if we can be energetic in the 1% areas I think we'll get the W here.
Get the effort areas correct and as above we'll definitely be competitive and we should get this result.
Yep long as they limit errors and just play a smart game should win handily. Next games v cowboys and souths will show us a lot
NQ quick play the ball and speed in changing their passing angles worries me. Hopefully our forwards will be quick enough to get back up after making a tackle. If not, they might run around us. As much as possible, let Ryley do the kick pressure instead of our slow forwards and back rowers since they can quickly run the ball and create scoring options in the last tackle.
I also hope that we try some variations in our last tackle option to get a repeat set instead of just always kicking to Lomax.
Issue is NQ bench is depleted, full of rookies. When they had likes of McLean, Taumalolo and McIntyre it was affective. If anything the test is Jack Williams on Dearden. Let that fucker get a run in and he's off and racing for the game, if he's in form so is Drinkwater.
Either way their defence is still rubbish.
