  • Serious Question. Can we. contractually, tell Catto not to approach ANY players or team facilities. Plonk him in an office cube with a fidget spinner for 26. Don't even give him busywork, just plonk him in the Dunces corner and ignore the everliving fuck out of him. His job is to become invisible for 12 mths

Write him off. Send him to rust in the scrapyard

  • What is the context though? Could it be someone returned earlier than what they should? Very unlikely but never know.

But Matterson probably has to be that player, i thought the other day he should have been a player that came back on day 1 of pre-season but then he also played in SL after our year was done so he would fit in the criteria of coming back just before Christmas.

  • Unless Matterson is toxic, culturally, then it just wastes a player who could depart some footy knowledge to the young guys coming through. Of course, he may well be just that.

Not sure where this goes. Maybe angling to get him to seek a release due to not playing at all. Although he can sit at home looking at himself in a full length mirror and get paid approx 7 times the average wage in NSW.

    • He is toxic, but why let him be home?

Put a Porta-loo on the training park.

Give Catto a ball and send him into said Portaloo for 6hrs of ball handling.

      Repeat daily

    • Yeah he could teach them how to take a 4 week hiatus rather than paying 4k tiddly winks fines 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Still wondering what is happening with Lomax? Not entirely sold on if he's leaving or staying and MON basically said he has a contract with us when he spoke on the podcast that's it. When is supposed to return to pre-season?

    • Didn't the club come out and say that Lomax has an injury that is still being treated. If that's the case, he wouldn't be back at training yet.

      • Probably is something as benign as this. Just make the click bait headline seem as though there's a player issue.

        • No doubt, Badger.

  • I wouldn't read too much into this. All we can do is speculate, but as others have said, this could mean many things. If they were referring to Matto, the headlines would be stonger "Contracted Eels star told he's not wanted". Could also be Ado Carr, ie "mate, take a break and come back in January".

"It seems insane that Eli passed his HIA after the first on-field hit, which obviously came after the warm up hit?
How is that possible? Can there be significant risk / damage after an impact, and a player not show HIA symptoms, or delayed symptoms?…"

"Post Judge Judy & blame games, what's the best way forward? Tighter protocols? A "Katoa Rule": from the sheds on, more than one head knock and you're off, no ifs or buts'? If so, bigger benches could be the way. Good for player development, too."
