    • Exactly, if we're going to start outsourcing talent (going away from internal development) it's going to have to be something super favourable for us, I don't think Pezet is that guy.

    • RIghtm so why throw Talataina, a rookie who i very raw, in then if he is due to fail with that notion about the forwards? If you see the chance of improving your squad, according to Ryles, you do it. It seems Ryles sees Pezet as an improvement. We will all judge after some time if it worked or not.

  • Pezet's best position is halfback.

Personally, I don't think he is what we need.

He is good in the Melbourne Storm system but very few players carry that form with them when they leave.

Persist with Papall'i until a genuine 5/8 becomes available and use the money they want to give Pezet for some quality backs.

    • I actually tend to agree! I thought Papalii was going good and seemed to be getting better. Eels need a winger especially if Lomax is going to Rugby

    • I don't agree. With R360 and Perth having a full cap, do people really think an elite 5/8 will become available.

    • BEM, good points re Storm systems and LIttle Pap's right attitude and defensive application.

The main issue with Pezet is the likely asking price. It heightens the risks & conseqences for the balance of the squad. If it were around the 500K mark with healthy ratchet clauses and incentives, I could live with it.

He's still a rookie, albeit a highly talented one imo with a game-changing kicking game and ability to be a General. Keys reasons our winning rate drops from 54% to 27% when Moses plays or doesn't. He could add something to ours that few teams have. Multiple canons.

  • When is it likely to be actually official

"Storm did good with a fullback to halves, Hughes and Munster came throught that route.
Wasn't my point, who's to say that Pezet is/would be better than Joash.???
Hang on I will answer that Ryles, but remember Ryles also wanted Talagi and Galvin so…"

"Another possibility is Hoey that the new broadcast deal is going to have a significant effect on the cap.....do you overspend on some players on the basis of the cap increasing substantially in their 2nd year?"

"Good point LB, I never saw it that way regardless .....but it seems a few on here wanted to make themselves more comfortable in losing Lomax and replacing him with Pezet.
I am hoping for our luck to continue and retain Lomax and lose Pezet."
