 Surely anyone that is representing the Kangaroos couldn't be doing it for the money! If the reported amount paid to each player is correct, ($3000 per game) going on this ashes tour is not worth it, not even close. To be away from family and friends for 5 or so weeks, continue training for this time, risk injury during training and playing for a total of $9000! Going by what these players earn playing NRL, at this rate they would earn $72,000 for the 24 games. I have heard several people in the media saying players who have pulled out of representing the Kangaroos are disrespecting the Green and Gold jersey, I say, paying players $3000 per game is beyond disrespectful!
