Eels exit race for Sandon Smith

Parramatta have reportedly dropped their interest in signing Sydney Five-Eighth Sandon Smith. The decision is based on the club placing their attention to other options, mainly in house optoins including Joash Papali'i.

Now i do believe they are looking at Papali'i and even in future Talataina, although i also wonder if there is a target that Ryles is looking at that he knows or might know is available that is not known as available if that makes sense. I don't know, the club is very good at keeping information in terms of recruitment sown shut. Anasta did let slip slightly of a target Ryles could be interested in but stopped before he said the actual name. I would put money, not a lot, on us still signing a 6.

        • Who Iongi or Papali'i?

  • I'm really liking how Footy Dean plays and unlocks players around him, especially his kicks to Lomax.

The smart move would be for Ryles to give Footy Dean a go at no.7 and shove ego Moses to 5/8.

  • Footy Dean is our #6 going forward. No need to chase anyone externally

  • Well George Williams the ex halfback for the Raiders is on the brink of signing for the Dolphins I know who I'm signing if that's the case and I'm shooting for the stars in years and per season $$$$ as well.Another bonus Katoa is a left sided player also all roads lead to Katoa.

Footy Dean can stay in reserve grade and Joash can find another spot but it George Williams signs with the Dolphins I'm making Katoa the richest 7 in the nrl.

    • Now there is a thought....a recruitment play of this magnitude would make our club imagine Katoa at 7 and Moses at 6....OK we are dreaming.....but why not make a play offer him 1.5 a season.....have a fucking crack Parra.

    • If we keep saying it does it come true? Kitchen sink and dishwasher at Katoa please

  • I think there's a goal in mind because we haven't been active in the 5/8 space since the Galvin signing failed, and taking Anasta's on-air slip, we've either got a verbal agreement from Pezet, or we're staying in house with Papalii or Hawkins.

    • Why Pezet? Just cause he is managed by Anasta? Could be anyone.

  • Yeah , we decided to withdraw .... There's no way that Sandon told us it ain't happening ..

    • We were only going to offer Smith a one year deal apparently anyway.
