Parramatta have reportedly dropped their interest in signing Sydney Five-Eighth Sandon Smith. The decision is based on the club placing their attention to other options, mainly in house optoins including Joash Papali'i.
Now i do believe they are looking at Papali'i and even in future Talataina, although i also wonder if there is a target that Ryles is looking at that he knows or might know is available that is not known as available if that makes sense. I don't know, the club is very good at keeping information in terms of recruitment sown shut. Anasta did let slip slightly of a target Ryles could be interested in but stopped before he said the actual name. I would put money, not a lot, on us still signing a 6.

I think Hawkins could be our in house option with Papali'i being our #14 when walker finishes.
I think you are probably right. With Moses spending more time in the stands than he is on the field, we need a 5/8 that can slot into the halfback role as needed. He has shown that he is capable of that, and with a few more seasons he could develop into a very handy asset for Parra. With some exciting prospects in the lower grades, it seems the club is not willing to offer a long term contract to an outside option.
I agree. I would be very surprised if Hawkins isn't developed as a 6, or Moses shifts to 6 with Hawkins at half in 2026.
Moses will never shift to 6. You can play Hawkins as a Halfback wearing 6.
what's really the difference in the modern day game between a 6 and a 7? Mostly, it's one plays on the left, and one on the right.
Ask Dylan Brown.
I am just saying Moses wont move. Just put Hawkins at 6 and leave it at that if you need to.
Your right LB, but I don't really see Hawkins is what we need unless you go in the direction that BUP is talking.
Kicking the difference.
We got nothing in-house ready to go next year we need a 6 and there isn't a way around this.
