Apparently the case today has been delayed due to Parramatta and Melbourne engaging in deep talks to get a deal done. Negotiations had ran overnight. What is hilarious is people on social media believe Parramatta know they will lose so are making a deal. Ummmm no this is the NRL not wanting to be involved and not wanting their stuff leaked so the heavies are on Melbourne to get something done.
The rumour at the moment is it could be a three way trade. Jesse Ramien's name has been floating around as Cronulla want cap space in order to front load contracts for next year. One rumour suggested Melbourne would get both Lomax and Ramien, therefore Melbourne would be more open to releasing a player if they get two. Now could that be for example Howarth since Ramien will be one Centre? Maybe but it seems a deal could be struck at the 11th hour.
A separate report also suggests the call from Parra for Lomax not to play Round 1 could still be on table.

Vlandys words in support of storm and Lomax ..such as " eels got Lomax for free" " won't see him go to rugby" blabla ensure Melb's cap is unaffected by Lomax signing imo. Another quote from Vlandys that seems to have disappeared off fox article was " parra got Lomax for free no issues " funny thing is I just looked up for precise wording and it's gooorne haha prob too much of a dckhead comment for any profesh to have made.
Vlandys now paved the way for plenty more players to break contracts I guess

I would be very disappointed if we fold & just get money in return, we would have failed this whole thing if Lomax ends up there and we end up with "compensation ". We'll see.

In all honesty it's a shit show by all parties, Parra included.
1. the club should have worked on Matto and other dead beats to try and get Lomax back. Retire Matto, work the system like every other smart powerful clubs.
2. When Storm weren't willing to let anyone we wanted go, start putting out feelers for other clubs that may want Lomax and may have someone we want or even an up and coming junior.
Dealing with Storm who has a direct line to V'Landys is crazy. This club will end up getting bent over and giving in... just watch.
Parra has played this pretty well, dragged it all the way out to court and forcing Storm/nrl to pay up. Worst move would have been just handing them Lomax months ago 🤣

Probably or Possibly Zip, but I'm for staying in the fight and outing the Storm and the nrl's two head honchos. Open to the light how they have conspired to dismiss Parra's legitament right in this case. Make the outcome black and white how the Storm has threatend us illegally and the nrl has taken their side by V'landys has had the back of Lomax to sway public opinion. Show the masses how the nrl runs the show no longer with neutrality but favourtism towards some clubs.
How? The NRL would push Storm to get a deal done so their stuff doesn't come out. Why would Storm give up any player? They have been pushed to so we shut up.
We have pushed so far all the way to subpoenaing the NRL why stop now?
