      • Donahue is highly regarded at the phins, attack and defence, hits harder than Ray Stone and has mongrel in him. Would be a great signing.

        • It's the reason I like the way the Phins have been built.

Donahue Stone Plath Gilbert all these guys are just tough mentally upstairs I bet you if you look at these guys up coming they've gone through hardship and for me it's the between the ears bit that I like about these players but the Phins especially have been built by a team builder and coach that understands what it takes for longevity and are built on a solid foundation.

They've had a recruitment plan and executed it faultlessly and now all they have to do is get the little things right and without a doubt they'll be playing finals football.

  • Sure he has had a couple of soft weeks but surprised by this. Our recruiters must be a bit more positive about signing versatile  new blood than I am actually.

  • I am ok with it. Walker has been good this year, though i reckon Paulo is moving towards that role off the bench next year. Walker is 33 next year, he would be looking for a 2 year plus deal. Do we want to offer him that and risk him declining? I would rather either try and use Smith in that role, could take some time, or try and get a younger player to fill that void. Someone like Jazz Tevaga or Erin Clark who can play Hooker as well.

I know he is good and great to keep but he is important for our attack with his organisation but other than that doesn't offer too much. Not a bad player or a liability by any means, but what he would want, going to SL at 33 he will get another 2-3 years out of his career compared to staying in the NRL.

    • Erin Clarke is 1 of my favorite players and would be the best option but he resigned with Warriors and isn't going anywhere which is why I suggested we look towards the dolphins who have a number of players with utility value who haven't locked down a spot.

      • Yeah I was more so saying that type. I knew we had no chance of getting Clark. Why would he leave NZ and why would they let him go. But again he was just a meh player at Titans before going back to NZ. Those types are out there if you can find them.
