Dylan Brown Staying or Going vote

GOING interests  -  *

* loves NZ and has talked about his passion for his country test wise.

* was very close to Brad Arthur, virtually a father figure to Dylan.  Would turn up to the bush coach's house unexpectedly for morning biscuits and Milo just for a chat.

* also rumoured to be close to the Arthur family Sons and Daughters ect

STAYING NARRATIVE-

* Dylan's contract is one of the most lucrative in the NRL. probably in the top 3. The length of contract ( 7 more years), with future clauses along with the rumoured 900k will be extremely tempting for him to stay.

* Has had knee and back injuries previous meaning the length of contract here may be very difficult to match by other prospective clubs.

For mine, I'm on the fence, but if push came to shove, I'm leaning towards leaving very slightly.  I just think with Shaun Johnson leaving the Warriors, they will throw the kitchen sink at Dylan, maybe up to a million a season.

  • If he stays it will not be the options. It will be a revised 3 year deal or so.

    I think he stays.

    • Revised? Surely you don't think Parramatta are upping his dollars?

      • Well it depends on what he is on now. I would believe that the salary goes up from each option. Media mention it is $900k salary, if it was i reckon he takes it particularly with a partial ACL tear.

Let's say for argument sakes he is on $700k for his next option for 3 years. We could just say sign til 2028 worth $850 a year. Brown gets more money annually but also has the same flexibility he had with the options by getting out after the 3 years with expansion.

  • I think Warriors will throw a $1mil+ at him, which will be be dumb for us to match. While I do love Dylan and want him to stay, he's not a Million dollar player and we'd be putting significant pressure on our roster.

If Dylan gets a huge offer from the Warriors he'll take it. Then we should go hard after Galvin. The problem then is we'll be in a 3-way battle with Tigers and Roosters and I'm not sure we'll win that... unless the young lad truly bleeds Blue & Gold.

  • Can Parra just say we're not offering you a contract past 2025? From what I'm reading there's not a lot of interest for his services (Dolphins, aside) and he'd soon come scampering back for his $900K. Parra certainly don't want to get into any bidding war.
