I will say he tried hard tonight, but is he the answer? Eels at less than half strength beat them, now broncos as well, who are missing plenty. Does this show how well the dogs are really going?
Did eels dodge a bullet?

Seems it is Galvin's role at Dogs that is the issue, not necessarily Galvin per se? Galvin permanently replaced Sexton at #7 for Dogs in Round 20 of 2025. After 19 rounds going into Round 20, Dogs were 3rd (12 wins, 4 losses, 3 byes; 366 (f) vs 270 (a) or +96 differential. They were scoring 23 pg and conceding 19 pg.
Over the next 8 regular season games in 2025 the Dogs were: still 3rd, 4 wins, 4 losses; 168 (f) vs 144 (a) or +24 differential. They were scoring 21 pg and conceding 18 pg. Win ratio had droppedf from 75% to 50% but despite critique of their scoring, we are talking 2 less points per game.
But in 2025 the talk about the Dogs was that, with Sexton, they were not converting possession and territory into points. Galvin was supposed to change that but did not.
Enter 2026 and after 8 rounds the Dogs are out of the 8 (11th): 3 wins, 4 losses, 1 bye; 133(f) vs 166(a) or -33; scoring 19 pg and conceding 24 pg.Dogs have lost against Eels and Broncos, both those teams decimated by injuries. But importantly, if you look at the stats, the Dogs just by the numbers one would expect they would have won: they had the better possession, territory and run meters in BOTH games.
It just looks like the Dogs have two running 5/8ths. Who is calling the shots? Recall after the Dogs lost to the Bunnies, when Chrichton was injured and Ciraldo put O'Sullivan on rather than Xerri? Ciraldo said he needed some communication out there. He doesn't have enough communication from his two starting halves?
Galvin probably would have been fine outside Moses . . .
"Manly under Seibold: 0-3, 60-98 (-38) vs Raiders, Knights, Chooks
Manly post-Seibold: 3-0, 118-42 (+76) vs Dolphins, Dragons, Cowboys.
Manly have doubled their points-for and halved their points-against post-Seibold. Obviously if the Eels wish to…"

"Thanks mate. The Manly team are shit to be fair. They are coming last in JF with no SG ball players in the team still.
Jordan Rankin has been doing a great job recently. He deserves a massive shout out."
"Yeah they won 70% of the twenty games prior to Galvin's arrival and only 50% in the twenty games since he arrived. It is all Gus' fault. He needs to admit he made a mistake. Everyone else is already thinking it so he needs to man up and admit it.…"
