Former controversial Eels CEO made The Australian's league wrap over the weekend. Yet another dig at the club's lack of success since he was ousted?

FAN FAVOURITE I

Former Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald enjoyed his first glass of port in 40 years late last week. “The last port I had was to celebrate the Eels’ 1986 grand final win,” said Fitzgerald, who was spotted at lunch inside The Epping Club.

  • Fair enough. 17 years since he last ruled and we only made 1 GF

  • He cant let it go ...he had his time.

  • Hopefully his misses stayed off the port, doesn't do too well after a few and getting behind the wheel.

  •  Another click bait story about the Eels to do with nothing really.

    90% of supporters wouldn't even know who he is/was. What a yawn!

  • I will never ever forget Fitzy's smirky smile immediately on him coming out on Tele first, with the news we were slugged with our 12 point deduction for salary cap rort.
    He was actually looking pleased!!

    no one that saw that would EVER be convinced he loves the club. More likely they'd think he is into himself and his self serving control more so.

    let the club go Fitzy!

    • Well it was Fitzies lack of vision that made our path post 1986 such an uncomfortable journey.

  • Fitzy needs to stop getting high on his own supply.

    His tenure wasn't all roses (look at that valley in the middle there), and went for 20+ years AFTER that last drink without delivering another premiership.

    Yes, the 3P Era was objectively wose than Fitzy...but if you only come out looking good when you compare yourself to the literal worst bunch of dopes you could ever find...then maybe you're setting the bar a little low. Post the 3P debacle we haven't gone too badly all things considered.

    Fitzy bringing up the 80's run is like your 40 year old mate who peaked in highschool telling you about how great he was at hockey in Year 10.

    P.S. That shirt looks like it was also in fashion the last time we won a premiership. Update the wardrobe Dennis and stop taking pleasure in the lack of success of a team you were meant to adore.
