Should we keep Kelma?

Unsure on his contract status but he's a damaging ball carrier lol. At worst he could come off our bench for punch

    • My question, JC, is whether that defensive issue is in fact fixable? By the time a player is making first grade there is a lot of footy and a lot of training, both at high level, under their belt. When do ingrained habits become unfixable?

  • 1 year deal MAX

Too hot and cold, great game tonight though

  • I did notice that he ran back into the defensive line, something he hasn't been doing. He usually stays on the ground then walks back.

  • Yes, imo... Two reasons.

1 - He's one of our best forwards in attack, if not the best. Just keep working on his defence.

2 - Until we prove as a club we can actually replace players, we need to keep everyone.

    • With Sua joining, Kelma and Kautoga will have to fight for the other spot

      • I think Kelma you might be able to use in the middle a bit, he's a very damaging ball carrier. Maybe 30-35 min of strong stuff in middle. But we'll see what club does

        • That's what I was thinking. Last night I saw something of modern middle forward in how he attacked and carried the ball. Still probably off the bench though.

      • Kautoga and Sua easily our backrowers that's a duo

      • If we do re-sign Kelma it's purely to see how Jezaiah continues developings. With Su'a coming and Kiti really developing I can't imagine we'd want to block Jez long term.

  • Everyone expects us to have 30 1st graders. Sign him, let him fight for his position. At least you know he can do a job if called upon.

"Bamblett is a beautiful runner of the football at fullback. Glides across the ground. He has a major obstacle for the next 5 years in Longi .  He is more than capable of playing 6 and has game awareness and eyes up footy ability. Very talented boy. "
