Daniel Anderson set for Parramatta Eels return

Daniel Anderson set for Parramatta Eels return
Daniel Anderson is set to get the job of Parramatta football manager after the club went cold on veteran Brian Smith. Anderson, the current referees boss, steered the Eels to a grand final in 2009, when they lost to the salary-cap cheating Melbourne Storm. Anderson still has close ties to the Eels and is known to want to get out of the pressure cooker job of referees boss.

Brad Arthur all but concedes Parramatta Eels defeat
Still on the Eels, and Brad Arthur has all but conceded defeat despite being promised the head coach job by club president Steve Sharp last week. That leaves the way open for Jason Taylor, who helped the Roosters to this year's title, to take over the reins. The push for Taylor was on political grounds - several board members want to make Sharp's position untenable and went against Arthur as a result. The green light for Taylor has left Sharp in an embarrassing predicament - one that the rogue directors hope will see him resign from his post.

  • Interesting. Alot of fans (myself included) belive we never should have let go of Ando and JT.

Lets also face the fact Ando would do better at football manager than referees boss.

    • Ya think so Schnitzel?

Hollywood was a better Ref's boss than DA - so that tells you how well I regard him in that job.

Wish this bunch of nuffies on the board would just POQ and let the CEO get on with his job.

      FORGET THE PAST-  move on.

  • Great we can finally move forward

  • Can't agree with DA as football manager. This would mean that junior development would largely be under his responsibility. Everyone should remember that it was DA who got rid of Maloney and Hodkinson. He also neglected our under 20s which meant there were no juniors coming through to replace the likes of Cayless, Grothe, Mateo, Inu, Kingston, & Tahu, which forced the club to sign the likes of Webb, Hicks, Walker, etc. The only decent player DA signed for 2011 was Maitua. Now it may well be that he has learned from his past mistakes, but if he's employed as GM I have my doubts in his ability to recognise and nurture young talent. From my perspective it seems that he focuses on a few select young players and disregards the rest; Mortimer and O'hanlon are players who he's done this with. He better not stuff us up again.

    • JT is very interested in the juniors. If JT is coach I don't see why we'd need a GM tbh, I think JT would have all aspects of the club covered whereas if we got BA we might have had to have a GM, although anything to take the pressure off the first grade is 100% okay with me.

  • The push for Taylor was on political grounds???  Looks like Krudd has a hand in there somewhere.

    • It was Fatty O'Farrell, Speedy, not Rudd, he's a Broncos supporter, by the way

    • You think abbnot is better just like blunty they have their own agendas I dont see the boats stopped yet I cant wait for the first interest rate rise
  • JT as coach and DA as GM
That my peeps is called the A -Team.
Easily the two best coaches we've had since BS.
And if JT is around, then BS can't be too far away.
  • If JT is coach I don't see why we'd need a GM tbh, I think JT would have all aspects of the club covered

    WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, you are over estimating essentially a Rookie type first grade coach with HUGE issues in man management skills that have yet to be wiped from his record - last time I checked, as head coach - he had LOST the confidence of his locker room SO MUCH SO that he got rewarded with a punch in the head

And you want to give him the keys to the Ferrari ????

Maybe in 10 years after a PROVEN track record as a WINNER

But he has 1 good year of success under his belt....let me say it again ONE year and TWO failures as Head Coach of Souths with a black eye and split lip to prove it

And you want NO GM and put JT incharge of ALL Footy operations

quote ............. although anything to take the pressure off the first grade is 100% okay with me.

Hint                                                                    Hire a GM then !!!!!!

for the record - JT is NOT the answer at Parra - yesterday, today or tomorrow.....and to make him GM as well is just laughable
