  • rahter we go for a tino, haas or keon type of player, we have enough toilers coming through, if we are buying, i think we spend on premium players to compliment our juniors coming through.

    • Tino is too expensive.  Something like 1.4 mil

      • Leon would be a good pickup though.

  • Briton Nikora outside Mitchell Moses please.

  • We have plenty of the mobile short forwards...we need at least one big boy to stem the flow ...a no from me

  • Curran no thx

  • Why help the dirty dogs out. They are just trying to clear space to sign ponga and tino

  • No thanks. I expect a good crack at Keaon Koloamatagi, he will slot straight in for Junior nicely

    • If Paulo is on as much as reported, we could be a good chance of getting Koloamatangi for 2027. One for one replacement.

  • This speculation and signing players for 2027 is bullshit.  No other sport does it, and how can you really plan if you want to develop players.  If we don't buy anyone and our juniors don't kick on we are screwed.  If we sign someone and our juniors actually develop their blocked by whoever we bought.

Signing players from outside the club should only be for elite players or cheap players who can be put into cup or moved on easily enough with short deals.  Curran isnt going to want a 1 year contract or come super cheap so shouldn't even be in the discussion.

The only players that fit elite targets are Tino (no chance as Melb are after him) and Keaon. Target Keaon with everything we have.  We also need a quality centre but who is available.  Purdue plays centre but wants to be a half and Koula has a player option on decent money.  Would we want to match that?   They are the best on offer but are they worth what they can get elsewhere.

Either we pinch someone under contract or develop someone.  Seeing how Russell improved this year we should back Ryles to develop someone within the club who has more skill and natural talent than Russell.  With experience of JAC to help them, we need to make the call on who has most potential in our juniors and get them at left centre next year.

It is better than recruiting someone just because we have money and their marginally better then what we have.
