So many good points raised in this article, I've long said our cap needs to be spread more evenly. Moses is the outlier, I guess there sometimes needs to be an exception for every rule.

Please tell me that is Hock? Who set up the pic? It's brilliant.
I always thought that if Hock had any sense of humour at all he would do a WWE style interview claiming he is on his way to Parra.......every year until he's 70.
I don't care if he's 45 now. Sign him now for the Bulldogs game and rest of the year. It would fill the stadium.
Yeah that's Hock mate. What you can do with AI these days brotha. Once upon a time it would've taken me hours to get it that good . Notice it wouldn't copy the logos on the Eels polo though. The eels tail looks like one of Ploppas toys.
Here's image of Hock I used for the AI program . And it did the rest with a few instructions.

The winning blueprint is definitely about having someone smart and connected, otherwise you just can't compete with big clubs on a year after year basis. Gould obviously implementing what he learnt at the Roosters.
Of course there are always exceptions, such as the Raiders this year. No superstars, in the backline at least, just a solid side all around.
Honestly, if the Eels can land a couple of good, speedy centres, who can catch and pass, Eels will be in a much better position. We have one of the best wing combinations and the worst centre pairing in the comp.
In 2018 the nrl made public the tpa's each club had. I'm using round figures but the salary cap that year was $9.4 million. The storm had the highest amount of tpa's attached to it's players in the mid $900k. So managing your salary cap is about 10 times more important than third party agreements. I wouldn't say the article is total bs.
I. Suppose all professional sports is run by big dollars for " marquee" players ", I don't know what sorts of pressure is put on a player who doesn't perform to that level of income.. .Stress and pressure to perform may have it's downside in some situations. Eg Comparisons between Moses and Cleary from yesterday's game. I wonder if the pressure on Brown at Newcastle to deliver his monetary worth will be a long term factor for him
I have serious doubts he will see out his contract. If they don't make huge strides forward in a short space of time the pressure on him will be immense. Despite his calm and composed demeanour he admitted the media attention was getting to him, and he hasn't even arrived there yet.
It's no different to any pressure any guy whose on big money is on.
The pieces of the team need to be in place for the given to shine.
Its no different to the Moses Cleary comparison yesterday one half took there opportunities the other didn't.Its basically how the team is built is going to have a huge impact on how a given player performs.
"Well the NRL and media wouldn't want to spoil Galvins first game as a puppy and with Pinocchio Gould handing out brown paper bags 💰 I'd say a Bulldogs win! Moses hasn't been playing well since being promoted to captain and is injured and is more…"
"Maybe , but that ain't getting him to sign for Canterbury and It ain't taking off. Just add it to the other 10,000 backyard junk brands trying to be the next White Fox. "
" Great inspiration to everyone associated with this club. Hope he has what it takes to become a legend with the Eels. People like him create something you can't artificially create. A heart and soul for the younger generation "

Those TPA's are the ones that are officially recorded Adam.
Some of them were so low it was laughable. I think from memory everyone was shocked that Roosters were so low.

Your right but Dyllan isn't a deep thinker and will get paid, even if he does leave early.
In saying he is not a deep thinker, it went through my mind yesterday that he might just like to cancel the whole deal.
