Canterbury sign three more recruits..over the cap???

Canterbury have continued their recruitment drive for the 2011 NRL season with the signings of Grant Millington, Michael Lett and Jonathan Wright.

Forward Millington joins from Cronulla, utility back Lett comes across from St George Illawarra and centre Wright links with the Bulldogs from Parramatta.

They join an already impressive signing spree which has netted Manly half Trent Hodkinson, Eels playmaker Kris Keating, Penrith second-rower Frank Pritchard and Melbourne prop Aiden Tolman.

"Grant, Michael and Jonathon are all handy acquisitions due to their experience at NRL level and their ability to each cover more than one position," Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore said in a statement.

"All three players add plenty of quality to our squad for next season and I can see them staking a claim for selection in first grade right from the start of the year."

Millington and Wright have signed two-year deals, while Lett's contract is for the 2011 seas

  • how how how
  • That brings the total of Parra juniors recruited to the bulldogs colours next year to 4
  • The more players they sign, the more suss the whole situation gets.
They're still looking at Eastwood as well and are confident of getting him.

Something's fishy there, but you never know, maybe they are somehow under the cap.
Todd Greenberg himself has said that the club is under the cap.
  • That doesn't include Parra juniors currently at the Dogs.
  • Yep...the doggies will definitely have a squad of about 60 plus next year.... might need 2 parallel training fields......
  • Or Bruno Cullen. Just like they want an old half to teach Morts, I think Paul Osborne the apprentice CEO needs a mentor like Cullen or Greenberg, maybe we can poach either of these two with our spare $$$$
  • i hate the dogs cant win a premiership so why not buy one
  • haha
  • agree on that
  • Tolman and Pritchard would be on fair coin but the other purchases would all be around $200K or less. With the increased cap they could be OK given the General and Kimmorley are gone and Bobcat may even be on a reduced salary. "Benefit of the Doubt"

"Defensively he's still got it which shows he's putting in the effort.
I'm struggling to find an answer on why he's making so many errors though, he was so reliable in 23/24"

"Agree with all of this Blue Eel. Except his biggest issue at the moment is he gives away too many penalties."
