Brown limited minutes

Not sure what ryles was thinking here. If you are going to push brown out of the halves but him in the centres for Russell. I can understand him wanting to adjust to life without brown but fuck me you play him or you don't. Not this half assed play him at hooker for 15mins.

  • He's probably thinking well we have an Origin and Australian halfback who only plays 3 games a year on full salary so why not have a NZ number 6 play limited minutes on full salary too.

    • Plus a 1 game origin forward that is perpetually injured or just told not to turn up.

  • Don't play him at all.
Can't understand why the commentators were calling for Dylan to come on and why people are shocked. He has offered nothing all year, and has offered less since deciding to leave us.
Give someone who wants to play for us a run.

    • Agreed.

    • 100% bench him now and use this season to set up next season.

    • He did nothing at Hooker. Just defended and passed. Pedestrian as it comes.

    • Exactly. People forget he's done nothing since 2022. The moment he signed elsewhere we should have started developing our next 6. Brown would have done no more than Joash did today. However Joash still plays with passion, and will improve

      • To be fair who has in a Eels jersey.

      • I feel like We sort of did start looking for our next 5/8 Mick, Ryles wanted Galvin the club couldn't do it, Ryles then wanted Sandon Smith, club couldn't get it done. Even before that Ryles wanted Blaize at the club and the club couldn't get it done.To me Ryles sees the writing on the wall,   that Recruitment can't sign a talented first grader, and he is going to have to manufacture one from nothing.

  • Looking forward to Ryles' presser reckon he'll own some of this loss based on his many positional descisions tonight...which would be fair for him to do unlike our previous 10 years experience.

really think it was too much all at once for a side who has just seemingly just  started to appear to adjust.

get joash needs experience blabla but not this much so soon with another rookie half ...not sure that helps anyone. Better he gets that firstly at 6 in reserves if he us deemed as a 6 chance.

"Defensively he's still got it which shows he's putting in the effort.
I'm struggling to find an answer on why he's making so many errors though, he was so reliable in 23/24"

"Agree with all of this Blue Eel. Except his biggest issue at the moment is he gives away too many penalties."

"Interesting take on Hopgood there LB.
Apart from handling errors, i thought he had been going fine. This year he is supposedly on $320K of the salary cap, and is playing every week. I'm more concerned about say Matterson on $650k or Paulo on $950k,…"
