Brown limited minutes

Not sure what ryles was thinking here. If you are going to push brown out of the halves but him in the centres for Russell. I can understand him wanting to adjust to life without brown but fuck me you play him or you don't. Not this half assed play him at hooker for 15mins.

  • He definitely needs to stay at 6 with Moses out, Joash can develop in nsw cup for next season. If Moses was playing you could get away with Joash but Hawkins can't do all of it

  • How much does Ryles have on us to get the Spoon.

    Maybe he's just clueless

    • Ryles decision with the team changes today got what it deserved.

With TDS and Lussick, hooker is not our weakest position. Backrowers and centre are the major problems. DB should have been shifted to centre in place of useless Russell or used as a running back rower.

Our captain courages had a shocker. Jr Paulo needs to hang up his boots. When the team needed momentum, a forward to help Jack Williams with the big carries, this guy decides he wants to play 5/8 and off load every chance he gets.

The team is a joke and so is the coach.

  • JR understands his seasons over so that basically ends the DB minutes and playing 6.The experiment is now to find the balance and competition for spots going foward.

Seriously id be starting Walker at 6.

Also we are soft as fark in the middle of the park we have to start playing more direct.

    • I'm with you Coryn. Brown is gone next year and playing him at 6 serves no purpose to building structure and confidence next year whilst blooding the heir apparent.

The way Junior and Williams defend next to each other I'd play him at prop... that would serve two purposes 😉

    • I like your walker to 6 idea Coryn!

      • Don't worry JR doesn't.

        • Ryles to be fair has a good thing going with Walker in the middle.

    • The old addage of go around them not through us. We looked good early on then tried to chase a lead and got fatigued quick. Penrith targeted our middles in attack, got us fatigued then off they went.

Tuivaiti showed some force, we need another big boppa. de Belin helps in defence but not in attack. Need someone like a JWH in this team for aggression.

Also, though i didn't mind Papali'i today, i do not mind Walker at 6. Use Smith as that 14 role.

      • Yep making so many errors tired our middles even further.

"It could all be between the ears for Hopgood. Either that or he's playing injured. The reason it could be psychological is he's making too many fundamental errors. Off side from kicks, not square at marker etc. Seems odd for a guy many considered a…"

"Defensively he's still got it which shows he's putting in the effort.
I'm struggling to find an answer on why he's making so many errors though, he was so reliable in 23/24"

"Agree with all of this Blue Eel. Except his biggest issue at the moment is he gives away too many penalties."

"Interesting take on Hopgood there LB.
Apart from handling errors, i thought he had been going fine. This year he is supposedly on $320K of the salary cap, and is playing every week. I'm more concerned about say Matterson on $650k or Paulo on $950k,…"
