"Tigers agreed to let him go early. No need for the cooling off period. Tigers released him.Deal will be signed off today... got until midnight tonight to do it."
I can immediately see that Jason Ryles is following a similar approach to Bellache at Storm and Cleary at Panthers. JR is locking down members of the spine long term which helps build combinations and consistency over a period of time. This is…

You a guy or girl?
I thought coryn was a guy!!!
Your last part is spot on, that spine can be anything and i am not convinced they do go with Papali'i. They might but i still think signing a 5/8 is very much still on the cards. I know you said signing Da Silva means Papali'i is going to be 5/8, though we have the money to sign a quality 5/8 also. But even if it is someone like Pezet who will not break the bank.
We should have oodles of coin. Like enough to sign 2 genuine rep level stars. Our team, as it stands for next season would have to be 2 million under the cap going by players immediate salaries ( not front loading salaries )
Yeah for sure LB, you are spot on, it doesn't mean we aren't still in the hunt for a 5/8th I could be absolutely wrong here.
But yeah, that spine... it will take time, but could be seriously exciting to watch. Iongi is a gun, Papalli is a bundle of something, I guess energy!? but he is fkn funny, and TDS obviously very highly touted through the grades.
A few key signings & keep Moses on the field, its a very different beast to the line up on the weekend.
If paps can't dislodge DB for 5/8 this year they mustn't have much faith.
Da Silva was rated by a lot as a future Origin player, whether you believe it or not, that was mentioned. If he can fulfil that along with Iongi who is going to be a star and possible Origin Fullback for QLD, Moses and whoever plays 5/8 as long as they are decent, there are no excuses for us moving forward.
There's definitely positives there and the youth in the spine is a good thing even with Moses aging as he is.They'll look back in this time without Moses as a blessing imo.
The negative is if we did pay as reported it's true what they say the bad clubs do overpay you see it all the time and if as reported we are over paying here on that disliked word potential.
Also like you mentioned the club so badly needed a win on the recruitment front and if TDS does reach that talked about ceiling all the negative noise will disappear. We got Mahoney for peanuts and he became top tier 9 for less right now if we are paying the given amount TDS has to pan out because we've gone in at the top of the market and paid for top of the market production.
We shall see.
And Galvin declined the opportunity to play for the club he grew up supporting and now he gets to watch his best mate do it. Welcome TDS hope you go well.
