You do realise Ryles has final say on the S&C coaches right? He would have sat down with Matty Jay and agreed to have him. MON and JS would not have hired Jay unless Ryles wanted him.
When the role requires you to work with the coach every day and form a connection and meet the philosphy of what the coach wants, that is a coach hire. If it is not a coach hire, why is the coach still employed for you?
