  • Lol good to see the salary cap working well we are no chance to sign anyone other than journeyman if we can't start winning regular games and being in top 8 contention it's juniors or bust it seems so fingers crossed they come good

    • It seems they love a shit out of the dunny. Go have a look ay the truck stops on the hwys, it's disgusting. Guarantee a fat ozzy truckie isn't laying one on the side of the road like that.

  • It is a worry and I wanted to sign him more for the fact that I want to break through with a big name signing.

But before we completely lose our minds. The paper is reporting it as a 2 year deal worth 1.6 mil. 800k per year with an option in Barnett's favour. So essentially a 3 year deal worth 2.4mil. Which was 200k less than our offer, over a 3 year period. Not as big a difference that is being made out.

He obviously thinks it is the best place for him to win a comp. I personally think after this year Brisbane wont be competing for comps in the next few years. No Haas, Reynolds and Hunt. That's a big hit to their team.

But as someone else said. Until we are in the top 8 we are going to struggle.

  • how much did he sign for the Broncos for ? ive just seen a report saying 2.4 million over 2 years... fark me.

  • We need 2 gun centres, I can live with our current batch of props for another year

    • Our Props were no where to be seen last week. This week if we come out and beat the Broncs then all is well in the club and we are going great. If we lose by 50 odd, ohhhhhh this place is going scorched earth, if we beat the Pennies in  2 weeks once again we will be world beaters, lose by 50 again and i don't think there is anywhere the club could hide from the tidal wave of disgust that fans will display.

  • Barnett's wife has family in Brisbane, which I believe was the major deciding factor. A lot of the media reports, we make our assumptions on, about our offer and the supposed Samrani swap deal is bollocks. The Broncos would likely have outbid us or almost any competitors with their benefactors.

    • The family in Brisbane is a new one to me Hoe. I'm in the midcoast and know for a fact that Mitch was brought up in Taree, has family all through Taree and a number of articles contributing quotes to Mitch said he wanted to be close to Taree for family, that that was the compassionate grounds he was granted his release. He stated that he, his wife and children need to be around Taree for the family support network they need due to one of his child's medical needs.

Then again i'm sure "Taree, that's in Queensland" can be added to the famous state of origin song.

      • Bluey, that song would be an instant hit on here. Now, I could be wrong, as I don't know Mitch and his wife's entire family tree (not all are from Taree or still live there, shock horror), but I believe it's on his wife's side.

  • NRL is corrupt, the quicker us fans accept this, the less heartache we go thru.
