Three things I like about this Bluey:
1. JR/Club is giving Simmo another chance. Mature. Adaptable.
2. Simmo has a chance at redemption. Being better. Kaizen.
3. It's a good example of authenticity & alignment. The club wasn't afraid to let him go if he wasn't really on the Ryles bus, despite having multiple years left on his contract.
my biggest concern is that he is staying as he had no other suitors. Tail between the legs returning to his contract.
next i'm worried that once predisposed to feeling entitled, and feeling he was playing well enough for a 1st grade spot, what changes and how does he overcome that, when not selected first again.
next, is he all in, easy words i h harder to put in practise when you feel hard done by.
do we end up with a player, disgruntled , only here to pick up his paycheck for the next 2 / 3 years, or has he retuned a changed, possessed man to do all he can to be a regular first grader in a team bound to finals footy.
Bluey, you're probably right and he didn’t get the offers, or hostage freight, he or Team Orr expected. Humble pie? That’s life. Fall down seven times, get up eight times.
He showed real gutso after injury, even if the dummy spit was a red flag. Now he just needs to focus on what’s ahead and be his best.
I doubt Ryles or the club will hold grudges. Just my two cents. But I could be wrong.
To me it appears they held a grudge against Matto for not putting in and or not leaving when asked. Sort of felt the same with Carty and to a degree Lane. Lane did finally leave the roster after being given a newly created job in the front office though.
Matto couldnt find other suitors either, and the club came out on the back of it saying all is well "Matterson is staying". A bit like the "coach has the boards support" type of statement, and we know how that ends.
Hope I'm wrong and your right HOE.
To me we appear to still be trying to rid our roster of the wrong attitude types, the left overs from a previous entitled era. With a small thing called valid contract getting in the way.
The off season will show if he is 'into the club' or not; and he will have to work his back into the top team. Hope he can prove me wrong as what was reported did not seem good. Russell will be one centre and if Penisini aims up he will take the other spot; JAC and possibly Lomax and the kids coming up as extras
The club can live without Lomax. Wing is covered with Simonsson and Russell.
What ever is left of Lomax money needs to be for a quality centre. IMO we have the worst centre pairing in the competition. Both lack speed, size and passing ability. Combine that with average backrowers, unfortunately it's not a premiership contender side.
Yes Zip Zip, why we arnt talking more about the worst centre pairing in the NRL is beyond me. They are certainly not a top 8 / finals footy pairing at this stage.
"I heard Whomever starts a rumours blog without confirmation by the club will now have a month vacation from 1ee - ask Sir Super Eel . It will be set in stone very soon
Unless its confirmed all rumours are a no go zone."
"#4 how long has lomax got on his contract if he stays the whole way that will be big.
#2 that will be a good get I'm sure JR hasaan how he'll use the 2 not worried that they are both perceived as organisers.Moses will be running it regardless."
"Though a club like say Gold Coast have drama inflicted by themselves, no where near the media noise on it as not many care. Parramatta sells more than most clubs, as do the Wests Tigers."

He's joined the Roger Fabri Speed Academy as well...
