Because Simonsson wants a wing spot, that was the reason why he was upset. Why else would he suddenly want to stay?
That tail wagging the dog logic doesn't stack. Probably not even a whiff. The exact opposite is likely the case, based on every bit of evidence to date in the Ryles era.
If this is true, then it's good news. He's not Lomax, but still pretty good.

Well it just adds competition to our backline which is always good. If Lomax is here great, if he is not Garrick seems the replacement, fine. Russell and Simonsson competing for Centre or maybe Garrick and Russell compete for Centre and Simonsson is Wing. If Garrick and Russell get spots, you have a quality back-up in reserves.
All this is great for a squad.
