If there is a superior centre on the way, or if Lomax is headed back to centre, and we are purchasing a winger, it will make more sense. Hopefully, this is centred around incoming recruitment.
On consistency, Hopgood (as much as I like him) has probably been the most inconsistent player this season? His errors have been very poor. He hasn't been dropped. So question remains what has happened with Simo since he was re-signed last season? Thought Bailey had been pretty good this year when on the field, outside a few defensive lapses, injuries his biggest issue.
Anyway, we don't have all the info yet, see what happens I guess. Not losing any faith in Ryles, it's just this one stands out compared to others.

Hopgood at locks been poor , at prop he's been very good.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hopgoods the next bloke to ask for a release.
Players that like to ball play a bit generally don't take it well when their asked to put the cue in the rack.
It certainly looks like we're positioning ourselves to make a significant play in the player market.
One thing about Ryles is he seems to be communicating exactly where players stand in his plans early and succinctly, he's not placating anyone.
There seems to be a seismic shift in accountability, not all players will respond well to that.
I suspect our 2026 moves will largely depend on if we can (and how fast) move on Matto, Hands, Lane, Simo from 2026+ contracts. Lots tied up there.
Our cap looks set to be cleaned up for 2027 onwards.

27 is the year next year we need to continue to build and evolve our style of play and continue the defensive improvement.First contact right now isn't upto it imo.

Completely agree NOS! I was excited for his return to the side because, in my book, he is in our best 17 every day of the week!
Opens up another spot on the top 30 roster for next year I guess.
Not worried about the reasons now if he's been requested a release so be it I won't be losing my sleep losing Simonsson.Onwards and upwards regardless of whose done what. The coach has made a decision move on let's find someone else.
yeh! but it is a strange one that bears some explanation.....it does show just the same that all the logic and bullshit being thrown at recruitment ......is something we haven't a clue about?
Finally just to add a bit of salt to the wound....i have not been able to fathom Moses negative body language in last weeks pressor, i was trying to see past it at the time, but it was hard to think no, it was nothing Ryles was saying?

Hey Bup,
Could be correct, absolutely.

Bup, insightful comments as usual.

This weeks game will tell us a lot!
Though Moses always seems to have that body language in all pressers he does.
